I'm aware of that, I meant the video court system some jails use, like prison skype. Where you do not leave the jail house for your trial. Sorry I should have worded myself better.

Is that the county court house? I'm aware it's quite a spare area and farm land mostly. Is it due to his high profile status? Is here a reason not video court?

Rural Pennsylvania is dotted with these little magistrate courts, which handle minor legal infractions and the arraignments and preliminary hearings and the like for more major cases which (if they turn into full-blown criminal cases) are later heard in actual courthouses of the Court of Common Pleas.

Inb4 people are mad Nick doesn't look like a broken, shell of a human being.

It would be hard to look worse than he usually looks, or for the county prison, run by competent adults, to take care of him worse than he did for himself when left to his own devices.

This is rural PA. And to answer your earlier question, this is not the main county court house, it's the magistrate (first level) court where things like traffic tickets and arraignments/preliminary hearings happen.

Also, my phone's about to die, so further updates will have to wait. However, before I depart, I should share the following exchange I had with the court clerk:

Her: Are you a journalist?

Me: Yes.

Her: With what paper?

Me: The Kiwi Farms. We're a website that documents the activities of . . . um . . . eccentric individuals on the internet.

Her: Eccentric (pauses, clearly thinking about Sick Nick) . . . I see.

Looks like it's moving forward in a full court. "Courtroom A" sounds like one of the major courtrooms in a county courthouse, presumably the Court of Common Pleas for Lancaster County though I'm sure @Saul Goodman will have more details.

Update: I got to attend the hearing. I will make a full report (although sensitive details will have to be redacted) when I get back to @MrsGoodman 's place.

For now, however, let me just say that I got to talk to the detective (the one who received the email). She basically is Olivia Benson in real life. Straight from central casting. Tall and attractive with a dry sense of humor, but also quite the no-nonsense authority figure. Whatever they're paying her can't possibly be enough.

I'll have a full report later, but for now I'll leave you, dear readers, with this tidbit: She did not know about the Farms prior to today (she did know about ED). Now she does (as do several other law enforcement officials who were present).

That's her title, if he's referring to the arresting officer. There were parallel investigations, one CPS and one criminal.
