Honestly, I am starting to view Biden as a better outcome the more I talk to Democrats. Now before I get hate—bombed, hear me out.
The Dems are split right now into two factions. There are the neo-Libs and their support base amongst the Gen X 40+ year olds that are very along the lines of people on the Farms in terms of politics, and then there is the progressive base comprised of 20-30 year old Millennials and early Gen Z that wants their Communist run. The older Dem base is smart, if not just behind in the times. They went from ahead of the old Neo-cons in the 90s and 2000s to the very Fox News watchers they bash as they rely solely on CNN and comedians because they were great 10+ years ago. They really do not align with progressives and would freak out about any change as they cannot even handle more moderate progressives like Bernie. When AOC is really on full display for something other than “strong woman” or “Trump Bad” the hope would be that Gen X loses it as her policies are too far left. Since Progressives are looking to overturn the Dem party for themselves, I believe anything hooking the two coinciding Dem generations together will fall apart quickly as the ideologies are contradictory to each other. Gen X wants to stay in the Obungo years, Progressives want full Commie mode. Their only glue was Trump, so expect war to break out.
I think Trump has done his work. He has radicalized the left to much for many to go with them. They are no longer slowly moving towards Communism and race policies like they were in 2016. Back then they could gain older peeps as they slowly introduced them to race policies and guilted them in. Now that they are going all in on stuff like the race education, which I have seen old Dems depict it as ridiculous.
As for Republicans, this election was so poorly handled that I doubt they will lose any support. Trump’s base is energized and ready to go, which will push support for the GOP in 24. Republicans can also likely count on the slow rising numbers of Gen Z as the more young, Republican base starts to factor in. If Progressives attempt to kill Biden’s run like they are planning, expect infighting in the DNC which will lead to low turnout as either progressives will get kicked out again and try to promote 3rd party, or they will win and alienate Gen X into leaving. The Dems cannot win without compromise, but neither is looking to do that. Progressives want blood, and Establishment has cucked all progressives for 4 years now.
Trump held the Dems together, without him, I say easy winnings for the GOP come 24, you know, unless fraud happens.
Or to put it in slightly more charitable terms, they have already learned the lesson that the Right et al should learn from this; that more often than not victory is far more important in the end than “honor” or dignity, at least as far as existential threats are concerned.
