The Holodomor, literally meaning "famine" or more literally "death by hunger" is the name of the ukranian genocide which occured after the soviet colectivization of 1929, which had its biggest deathtoll in 1933. This has multiple reasons:
1-Stalin ordered the Kulaks arrested and sent to Gulags. Kulak basically is the landowners, the farmers that actually owned the fields and organized the labor. In his place he ordered the colectivization of the lower farmers. This not only resulted in the deaths of the Kulaks themselves, but said Kulaks often were the only real experts in farming, the farmhands were often illiterate near universally untrained in anything but manual labor and as so would've needed a period of transition to be trained into their new position, or at least to have the ex-kulaks as teachers.
2-The farmers, seeing that colectivization had in fact lowered their working conditions, and being lefties, decided to do strikes or just work less in protest, Stalin responded to this by also sending them to the Gulag, with predictable results. Which is to say that as the only people left were those too scared to protest depression lack of knowledge and farmhands and general shitty work conditions resulted in considerably lower yields and lots of added workplace accidents. Productivity? We don't need productivity where we're going, which is the grave!
3-TAXES! So, seeing the complete and utter destruction of Ukraine's rural economy, you'd think at least a commie leader that wasn't an idiot would try to focus on internal economy and do what he can to save the region, kinda like how we have disaster relief programs everywhere else. You need to keep at least the people who aren't farmers thinking communism is good. Right? WRONG! People aren't people you filthy capitalists, they are cogs for the state! And cogs don't need food! Oil? Never heard of it but I'm sure it's burgeoise propaganda. True communists major in political science not engineering that work is for peasants! I mean burgeoise- Burgeoises? Burgers? BURGEROISERS! Ejem. As I was saying, yeah Stalin said fuck listening to the people I need to keep exporting grain to convince capitalist pigdogs to stop financing their farms so they are dependant on me (hint belt and road hint) so tax evasion would not be tollerated. That's not your grain you silly ukranians, that's OUR grain, and by our I mean mine.
The result was a LOT of dead ukrainians, and a lot more in kazakstan. Estimates are in the multiple millions, I've heard estimates putting it around 3 millions and estimates putting it around 10, dunno the real one, either way that's quite a few gorrillion deaths that you'll never heard jews talk about. So you might wonder. How do soviets excuse this?
1-That was totally famine due to poor weather, you have no evidence colectivization caused it, and saying poor farmers couldn't take care of the fields is classism you capitalist pig. And everyone knows Stalin didn't actually tax them that hard, the nazis just exaggerated it for propaganda you alt-right troll! Yes really they argue that. Fun fact, crop yield had been growing for 3 years before this point and indeed climate seemed to indicate they should've kept growing. And there's more evidence of Stalin's taxes that there is of the 6 gorrillion... Ejem.
2-That was all just nazi propaganda, you just hate communism because you're a fascist! Yes really. Needless to say, this is a thought terminating cliche. And the amount of actual soviets that tried to warn of the issues and stop it during the early 30s is more than enough proof these guys are idiots.
3-The Holodomor was just an ukranian issue caused by the very special and unique circumstances of the country, it totally wouldn't have happened anywhere else and any other country implementing communism would've had no problem because farms were so poor in ukraine that they would've had the famine anywar. I refer you to number 1, crops were going fine before the commies arrived. And Holodomor was far from the only famine following collectivization, it was just the most spectacular. Not to mention the implementation of Lysenkoism caused new familes everywhere even when they had already gotten used to collectivization, so in summary fook of with that shit.
