Can you imagine if the SCOTUS eventually declares the 2nd Amendment requires strict scrutiny? This is the reporter being wrong about something, I know shock. Observers are not allowed to be right next to the table while placing ballot batches, so as to prevent any form of possibility of collaboration or shenanigans. Its a safeguard against fraud, not the coof. Though its worth reading through that, its worth noting that objected ones are individually looked at by independent judges of the ballots. So Objecting to a ballot puts it in the pile for independent review on non-standard protocol.

Even if Joe Biden is found to be the clear winner of the Electoral College once all legal votes are counted, Trump will still have plenty of room for mischief. While he likely won’t barricade himself in the White House, he can refuse to concede, call Biden a cheater, and spend his last two months in office sabotaging the executive branch in any way he can. None of it. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris must both publicly commit themselves to governing as the moderates that they have spent the last several months claiming to be.

If this truly was about saving America from the alleged evils of Trump, and not about implementing a plan to fundamentally reshape America into a democratic socialist nation, then here is Democrats’ chance to prove it by agreeing to a Biden presidency in exchange for a centrist policy agenda.

Lest I be accused of defeatism, allow me to emphasize that there is no reason yet to accept Trump as the loser of the election. However, if the prospect for a Trump victory grows bleak in the coming weeks, then this sort of deal will serve as an insurance policy against the worst tendencies of the Democratic Party. While the Compromise of 1877 did great and lasting harm to our nation, a similarly concocted Compromise of 2021 might save it, ensuring that we are governed by a moderate coalition rather than a junta of fringe left-wing activists hell-bent on foisting their radical agenda upon the rest of us.

Still, the fact that this proposal for a Compromise of 2021 is not viable doesn't mean that compromise isn't possible. I think a key part of it is that the Democrats must not get the White House and the electoral system must be cleaned up.

If Trump concedes, first of what makes you think the same democrats that immediately went back on their word with the audit thing would keep their word now. For the last couple of weeks, I've been honestly finding myself agreeing with Mark Steyn that using "shenanigans" so flippantly to describe the fuckery that's going on isn't appropriate when describing election fraud. Just FYI I don't agree with the proposed compromise. I just thought it would be interesting to search for 'Compromise of 2021' and see if anyone had any ideas. If they have ideas that I don't believe will work, which will be most of all of them I'll post them here and explain why I don't think they're workable.

Thing about the compromise of 1877 is that Hayes almost immediately went back on everything except the removal of military units from the remaining two states, thereby ending Reconstruction. Today's Democrats are even less trustworthy than he was. They cheated in this election, after all.

Best we can hope for is for the Trump legal team to make their case in front of the SCOTUS
