I've been raging against the angle that COVID infection means you WILL have lasting damage or even that most will see such lasting damage. Also the idea that these symptoms are somehow "new" for a disease, when the flu and certain cold strains can do the same thing in severe cases.
This has been the only thing about COVID that I can't figure out. It's a very effective fear weapon. Once you've gotten over the fact that you won't die, and that maybe the older people have a better shot than you think if they are healthy, it leaves the third worry, long term damage/impairment. You just need a few studies saying you'll get lasting damage to your heart or brain, and it gives me pause at least. I have been trying to compile some studies on other outbreaks to see if lasting effects are a rare but can occur with things like the normal flu/colds, but it's hard to find, and the media won't talk about. I'm going to go back through your postings and see if you listed any studies, but I think it would be worthwhile to compile info/studies on weird complications with the normal flu/colds. It would make me feel better at least.

Some of us are already there. Oddly enough, being ostracized for all types of wrongthink this year and then chastised to wear a mask by the same people results in a “lol your shame does not work anymore” attitude.

Boooooooooring. The hysterical side needs to come up with new arguments. Using a Shapiro tagline to get people in line shows how in touch with their opposition these smooth brains are.

Probably OT so shitcan me if needed, but Kiwis in the UK who're at a loss on what to do? MIght be worth, instead of emailing your MP, going for Sir Graham Brady (Con, Sale and Altrincham). He's the head of the 1922 committee which has the ability to call for a Gov. led vote of no confidence, and has consistently voted against Government policies on the coof. Someone's got to start holding the fat, bumbling incompetent fucker running this shit show to account.

I did a quick guestimation based on available literature, basically assuming hospitalized = severe; and got a range of estimates based on the estimates of my sources.

EDIT: Here's a collection of shit "common colds" can do. Turns out I didn't dig much on what flus can do, but I'm pretty sure someone on here has.

Here are some symptoms of "common cold" coronaviruses
And more
And some more
Oh lookie even Rhinoviruses, the other major "common cold" group can cause fucking viral pneumonia
The reason colds make one feel "tired" or "unlert" is because they are fucking with the central nervous system
Can literally kill kids via brain infection
Literally OC43 can target neural pathways

The opposition will want to coof even harder.

Your options are ride it out, leave, disobedience, or violence

I was just throwing out a number that would be impressive. It was my "Trump handled this really well" scenario
In that case, how would you react if I told you that only 6% of deaths attributed to COVID-19 were solely caused by it, with the other 94% also bearing an average of 2.6 other listings upon their death certificates, and that's before you get into allegations about putting COVID on death certificates without actually having a positive confirmation and general shittiness in the quality of the tests.

At 6% of 250k, we have a sum total of 15,000 cases of unequivocal "death by the coof", with the remainder being a mess of "maybe, maybe not" that would be impossible to decipher without access to death certificates, autopsy reports and doctors' notes. Would that constitute suitable impressiveness for you?

I would tell you that you (and the author of that article) don't know how to read a CDC chart or know how death certificates are coded. I work in healthcare, I know how this works.

If you go to the hospital with a condition (let's say covid, for example), that gets added to your medical chart. If you develop stuff due to that later on, so for our given example, renal failure and respiratory failure, those also get added to your chart. If you then die, the condition(s) that led to your death are listed on your death certificate (so, in this case, if it was the respiratory failure that did it, it'd be respiratory failure and covid). That doesn't mean that respiratory failure was a pre-existing condition, just that it was what led to your death. So only 6% of people had covid without anything else listed on their death certificate; this probably was due to human error

For example, if you get stabbed and die of blood loss, you will have blood loss and the stab wound on your death certificate. That doesn't mean the blood loss was a pre-existing condition.

So you can get Fentanyl OD from COVID, gotcha.

Anybody could read a death certificate and state what you just said. If the goal of stating that you work in healthcare is supposed to get others to trust you more, you'd have done better stating that your uncle works at Nintendo.

I was explaining why his claim was completely retarded. "Covid being the only thing on 6% of covid death's death certificate" doesn't mean that only 6% didn't have pre-existing conditions, which is what he implied. That's like saying HIV doesn't kill people, but instead the other things that they catch kill them, thus HIV isn't dangerous at all.

When you take into account that prior to 2019/2020, influenza was often the straw that broke the camel's back, SARS-nCov2 is nothing more than an idiosyncratic flu.

True, but the fuckers in power get paid a shitload, as do their staff. They're paid enough to have their inbox shit up by me whihging, haha.

I do agree with you though. It's interesting in the UK though, things are getting ugly, but people aren't really there yet. I've noticed though more often the tards who are all "PILES OF BODIES!!!!!!! PILES OF BODIES IN THE STREET MUH MASS GRAVES!!!!!!!" are getting told to shut the fuck up.

Edited: @Fanatical Pragmatist: Flu can be shitty. Having had it a few years back its made me think long covid is a fucking lie, cos viruses, especially a bad case of flu, can make you feel like shit for a while after, often months.

All the people bitching about long covid i know have employers who pay up to 6 months full sick pay. Just an observation.

Except with a hell of a lot more deaths and a higher potential for long-term damage. ICUs don't get overrun by the seasonable flu

That's my point: it's impossible to tell if the respiratory conditions listed do or don't relate to a COVID infection without getting into the medical records of the patients. And that's only for the respiratory conditions and cardiac arrest/heart failure if we want to play the technicalities game. I for one, have never heard of the coof causing sepsis, diabetes or Alzheimer's, not to mention that massive blob of "all other conditions and causes" that constitutes nearly half of the cases. Do you know how many of them are actual COVID deaths? I sure as hell don't, but I do know that when the powers that be are telling me to shut up and trust the microscope man, they usually have something other than my best interests in mind.

The death rate for under 70's from Covid-19 is 0.05%

This is from the WHO website.

For those under 30 Covid is LESS deadly than the seasonal flu.

In the third world the coof is a non issue, virtually no one is dying from it.

In western nations with large populations of morbidly obese we're seeing higher mortality rates (type 2 diabetes combined with old age).

How to deal effectively with the pandemic has been known since March. The old and chronically ill should be cared for in Sanitariums to eliminate nosocomial infections.

The young should be encouraged to catch it to build herd immunity quickly.

Instead out governments have been deliberately placing the old and fat in public hospitals and nursing homes putting them and the non infected at risk.

They've also been severely limiting the ability of the young to co-mingle and socialize.

If you wanted to deliberately extend the duration of the pandemic and maximize the death rate you'd do what our governments have been doing for the past 9 months.

Completely agree with all you say there. Worse, they've fucked people's mental health, and are eschewing all other HCs in favour of this virus. Friend of mine had a hard pregnancy last year, and developed gum issues. She was having regular hygienist treatment to get on top of it, but is now on the verge of losing all her teeth cos you cannot get a dentist appointment.

The Pfizer vaccine applied for emergency approval, with estimations the first doses will be doled out to essential workers in December.

Presumably, they'll keep manufacturing doses into 2021 and more people will get vaccinated. At SOME point, we'll reach "herd immunity" or whatever they've designated counts as this magical arbitrary number to reach it if we haven't already.

Along the way, more and more people will start to say "fuck this shit" (as they've been doing), if only because they're going broke and/or insane, start acting normal, and get on with their lives. Gradually cases will diminish. The coof will stop being so horrifying.

However, AS THIS HAPPENS, the people who have bunkered down and become paranoid psychopaths will continue to scream at everyone for daring to do things like travel, see family, shop, go to the spa, play sports, go outside, etc. They will continue to say "ARE YOU CRAZY????" and "HOW COULD YOU?!" when they see friends post their usual happenings on social media.

The common refrain is: "WHY AREN'T YOU SCARED LIKE ME??"

These screechers are, I suspect, the people most traumatized by the madness/group psychosis of the pandemic. They've internalized it to such a degree they now see other people as The Enemy. They will continue to be germaphobes and general agoraphobes for years, possibly even the remainder of their lives.

I'll be interested to see what psychologists have to say about all of this in retrospect. I do really think we are in a current state of mass psychosis.

This is absolutely off-topic, but I sent an email to my MP regarding the whole "BAN ENCRYPTION" thing a few years back and got a letter in the post with a fancy envelope and the letter was on really nice paper. When I unfolded the letter I actually said out loud "this is some really fancy paper".

I recommend every British Kiwi emails their local MP just to experience the feeling of nice paper.

Also, if you have balls, email Buckingham Palace asking to see the Queen, you'll get an official royal letter in the post saying "No". Don't open it, just keep it somewhere for bragging rights like "yeah, I got a letter from the Queen".

Oh my God, I thought I was the only person sad enough to appreciate that shit  I completely agree though, do write to your MP anyways if you're fucked off with all this. And the leader of the "Opposition" and the Head of the 1922 Committee. Citations and references help, too, to be honest. Preferably from crediblecources. plenty can be found from medical/lab staff on DDG.

I'm guessing you're in the UK too, fren? I think this evening with the fatfucktard in chief "addressing the nation" (though we all know, really, advisors and his GF will be elbows deep in his arse, working his gums like a muppet) could be interesting. I'm not on social media, but some friends have mentioned more than once that the mood is souring and people are openly ripping into the Government.
