I would really recommend you guys watch the stream Barnes did with Viva Frei today it's really fascinating and Barnes has a really good perspective on things. Update on Barnes himself at the moment he's back home in Nevada after the time he spent in Atlanta and he said he'll likely be back on the road soon, so I imagine he's nowhere near done working with the trump case.
To put it bluntly Sidney Powell shit the bed. Barnes thinks that while there are problems with Dominion in general, the stuff Powell was pushing was coming from a disinfo campaign and it pretty much derailed trump's legal team. Barnes laid out the fact that's pretty much three competing factions in the Trump legal team.
The first faction is the establishment republicans who ideally Trump to push for a few counts then eventually concede and fade quietly into the night, on the opposite end of the spectrum is the QAnnon true believers pushing the dominion stuff, and in the middle are people like Barnes from both the left and right focusing on the constitutional and statistic arguments who beyond just wanting to fight for trump also want to have a legitimate conversation about electoral reform. Barnes said that this middle faction of which he is part off isn't as effective as it could be because it's effectively being crushed by the two other factions, the republican establishment who wants trump to fade away and in someways are trying to sabotage his legal efforts and the True Believer side who Is pushing these arguments which if true are just too hard to prove in court.
Barnes was extremely critical of Powell and blames her for the current situation in Georgia, saying that prior to Powell starting up her circus about Dominion the SoS in Georgia was getting flak for not doing a proper audit and canvas but then Powell drew attention away from that situation. Once the circus was started Barnes said that Powell effectively took over Trump's legal team to a point where at one point over the weekend there was no a single election lawyer working in the inner circle which was a very bad sign. (Side Note: Speaking of Georgia, Barnes said that pretty much everyone on Trump's team outside of Powell's circle thinks Lin Wood is fucking crazy)
So based off what Barnes was saying it does sound worth dooming over as Powell did ineffectively derail Trump's team for most of last week but Barnes did offer up some information that gives me a bit of hope.
For starters, Trump has apparently made it very clear he does not want this to become a right wing russia gate nor does he want to go the way of al gore,He wants focus on figuring out what wrong in this election in the best case scenario rectify what wrong as trump has legitimate reason to believe he would have won in a fair vote and worse case scenario at least keep his legacy intact by fighting for his base to best set up for a potential run in 2024. Due to this Barnes said that based off what Trump wants and what was happening last week, he and a lot of others saw Powell being dismissed coming and that it was only a matter of time.
With Powell gone, Barnes thinks that despite Powell's actions hurting Trump's case in someways it does improve his chances. It's still a Hail Mary as he says, but it's now become an above average hail mary as opposed to last week where it was really starting to go nowhere because of Powell. Another note that is Barnes did mention Trump isn't hostile to Powell and actually sympathizes with her possibly due to Flynn, so I think that sympathy explain while Elis was retweeted Powell's statement earlier.
Something that gave me hope is that Barnes claims he was able to get Trump's team to zero in on the mail in ballot signatures in the PA case which he says was completely ignored by the Judge when he threw the case out. Barnes thinks that is a really good avenue of attack for Trump's team and mentioned talking to people in Georgia said that signatures have never been properly audited in Georgia and if it were to happen this election about 10% of the ballots would be affected , so he thinks it's a good thing that Kemp seems to be pressuring for that to happen, and believes it would be a game changer in pretty much ever disputed state.
So overall it's a bit demoralizing to hear how badly Powell fucked things up, Barnes does still believe Trump has a chance which is good to hear because I do take Barnes very seriously if he were to say Trump has no chance that would be pretty shattering but he still thinks Trump can go somewhere with his case. Yes Powell fucked things up a bit but at least she's gone now rather than later or not at all, I think it's best she got removed today especially as we head into the new week. I think the beginning of last week was a pretty optimistic time for us because Rudy and Ellis did seem to have solid arguments in the PA court case and that was before Powell went wild with the dominion stuff. And now that she's been removed and considering what Trump wants from the case, I do think it'll move back towards the stuff Rudy and Ellis were arguing about which is much more in line with Barnes' faction in the trump legal team. And I think it's very good to hear that Trump's team does seem to be moving towards pushing to audit the signatures.
So at the end of the day I think we're just gonna have to say how things play out this week and what we hear from Trump's team. Considering what past weeks have been like I'm expecting a decently optimistic start to week, so let's hope we get some good signs soon.
That's about all..........Peace out
