Choco can also cook quite well, apparently. She had Watame over and made fried rice with peppers to show her that it was possible to make peppers taste good, and I think someone had said she’s sort of made it her mission to make real homemade food for all the girls because she worries about their nutritional health.

I would totally watch a weekly Choco-sensei cooking show. I feel like if Cooking with Dog can be a hit, they can figure out Cooking with Choco using a stand-in or something. Or even without a stand-in, but just watching hands gets tiresome.

edit: also, after his stupid raging at Bennett Foddy because Getting Over It basically said Youtubers were just non-creatives exploiting creatives for second-hand content, I have nothing but disdain for Markiplier. At least the Vtubers seem to actually enjoy their job.

Moona and Kiara were very quick to do that, and Kiara has done it multiple times when people threw around the idea that Calli secretly dislikes her, when ignoring all the other stuff about their relationship (shared Twitter hashtag for shipping art, the fact that they collab frequently and are in each others' chats a lot, and that they hang out IRL a bunch.) Every single piece of evidence doesn't really sound like "Yeah, Karen really hates Kiara's guts, doesn't she? She hates her so much that she gave her some loaner equipment worth hundreds and helped her work on a music video. What a vitriolic, toxic cunt." Fucking really?

That said, whenever one of the girls drops some stuff about their personal life, it comes off as extremely easy to believe because they don't have any reason to lie. With independent Twitch streamers, they actually have a few reasons for lying and the more lies you tell, the more difficult it is to keep your story straight; what brought me to the farms in the first place was trying to keep track of every single thing the PigRoach would say since it's honestly a daunting task. No, the hololive girls feel incredibly genuine about their hardships and people have confirmed some stuff. Calli definitely seems like the tomboyish type who would have trouble with romance and Amelia actually did lose someone close to her, which correct me if I'm wrong, were her parents. It makes sense as to why she has more stories that have her aunt in the picture than her parents. People have said stuff about Keekihime's past, which I'm inclined to believe is true since even as Kiara, she can say and act pretty fucking dumb at times and definitely has some attachment issues. Now, if someone were to be found out lying about their past, it would be a shitshow; in the case of Watame, for example, you'd have to be a special kind of cruel to lie about your dad abandoning you and your brother.

Sometimes introverts come out of their shell when they're in their element. Honestly I think because Kson is so passionate about cosplay and video games, that she loves being "out and about" when she's at a convention and around those kinds of people. But, as far as going out in public in general she doesn't seem to be a fan unless she's with someone she absolutely trusts, like Kanata. I remember that one clip where Mio asked Coco why she doesn't wanna hang out w/ Subaru, and she said because the duck is way too extroverted and would make her "go out and do things,' lol.

But yeah there's different levels of introvert, and as you said, we know Pekora is waaaay at the social-anxiety end of the spectrum, poor girl.

Lastly, I agree with the girls having no reason to lie. Is there kayfabe in some of the stuff they do? Of course, they're entertainers; guarantee they exaggerate certain things a little bit, but I highly doubt they ever flat-out lie. No way they'd lie about their personal struggles though. I've even personally confirmed some of the stuff they've said through old archives of their 'past selves' (with some help). A lot of the Holos have had it really rough, and I'm very happy they can live full, successful lives now. Yagoo/Cover have done a lot of good for a lot of people.

Choco is definitely a master cook, she's shown it on dozens of occasions. I remember when 2nd Gen had their full-collab a couple months ago, all the girls begged her to cook omurice of all things, to which Choco commented that they're all like little kids, wanting something so simple to eat.

Choco is definitely the "nutrition mommy" of all the girls, whereas Mio is the "mental health mommy." They're both shoulders that most of the other Holos lean on when they need advice.

I just wish sensei would go the route Aki does and actually film what she's doing while she cooks. Aki's just careful not to show anything besides her hand/arm (and she wears a white glove so it looks like it's actually 'Aki' cooking it). I want someone to translate Choco's recipes and cooking streams but the one guy who does Choco translations said he's really not interested, sadly.

I remember specifically Amelia mentioning people doubting her stories of childhood physical trauma and her response was that it would take way too much effort for her to come up with an interesting lie but her stories may have a bit of embellishment since she doesn't exactly remember all the details. I still wouldn't consider that a deliberate embellishment, more like filling in details by playing telephone with yourself.

Then what does that make Lamy? Gen 5 in particular leans on her a lot but I don't think the others know Lamy well enough to rely on her on the same level as they do Mio. She's not the wine aunt, that's Calli.

There was Hololive animation where they had her avatar cook while a bunch of stupid shit was happening in the background, but the audio was ripped straight from one of her cooking streams, along with her photo on Twitter.

There have been a few times the girls have cooked stuff live and they tend to at least try and film it if they can; Haachama has her pink gloves as does Mel. Luna wanted to show her cooking, but she couldn't very easily so she would run back and forth from the kitchen to take photos of her work. It became sort of a joke to make her mad because people could hear her jogging in her slippers. Ame turned mashing yams into ASMR and then showed off her finished candied yam dish. That particular one was really funny since all the Europeans thought she was trying to copy Haachama cooking without realizing that Americans actually do bake yams with brown sugar, marshmallow and chicken stock.

EDIT: Dammit, forgot the reason I posted here. Because I still sometimes follow the anituber community, as horrible as they are most of the time, I discovered this piece trite little thing. Prepare for more jackasses to enter the community, this time of the pompous smug asshole variety!

I have a small scar behind my left ear cuz I was running as a tardlet pretending I was a motorcycle at a Big Bear market, slipped and hit my head on one of those cylinder things. I have another scar near my right eye from my time as a slightly older tardlet because a neighbor’s dog looped its leash around my legs and I smashed my nerf gun into my face. Almost got pancaked by a car in high school biking down a deserted straight road at midnight. I was staring down the road, blinding lights came out of nowhere, I swerved to one side, and couldn’t see the car anywhere when I looked back to try and catch a glimpse of the fucker that almost killed me even though the road had lights illuminating the entire street. All this is from a lower/middle-class household, mind you,

Ame’s stories all seem okay, the thing is she has so fucking many of them its a miracle the girl made it to adulthood.

It's kinda like the opposite of being on KF. Being an anti is being a tard trying to make fun and get a rise out of normal (and a bit less than normal) people rather than the other way around. A lot of them are also really rabid, especially the Japanese antis they turned a-logging into an artform. The Chinkboiz we were introduced to with the whole 'chaama and Coco Taiwan drama are similar. They are just as obsessed and rabid as your average Japanese anti, but they've got even less brains to back up their a-log efforts. Watching their harebrained schemes fall apart every single goddamn time is like watching Wile E. Coyote keep blowing himself up in the Roadrunner cartoon.

Pekora has done online content creation before and probably did it because she saw an opportunity to work from home to a degree as well as to keep doing the kinds of things she likes doing. The only thing I know of her previous identity as 110 is her cosplay as Hestia and her pretty impressive rack.
 
Pekora only applied at Miko’s urging, if I remember correctly. They were irl friends before they were coworkers. Something something nepotism.

Can’t say I know anything about Aqua, though.
