His parole is up in Feb/March next year, so it is entirely possible that it's related.
As someone said, the cops came in calmly and were looking for Ethan and knew who he was, so it not a "there's a crazy man with a gun/drugs/hostage/molesting children/whatever" type swat where he would be released 10 mins later once everyone clarified.

If he actually is arrested, then there could be some serious repercussions (obviously), At best, he gets arrested for something small but is released shortly after, but his PO then will deny out of state trips, at worst it sends him back to jail.
Who knows? I'm sure it will be known soon enough.
