He had too much against him, and everybody knew by backstabbing the radicals he was defeting his own power, at least... If it really depended on the elections. But it didn't. Because he had made a deal with Cánovas long before the elections took place. Game was rigged from the start.
In the same way. Without the seemingly defetist RINOS, Harris can never come to power. The evidence of electoral fraud is too obvious, and everyone knows having backstabbed the progressives and socialists would cost her any future elections, if they weren't rigged. But I can assure you she dealt with Romney long before the primaries even started.
The GOP was always the final boss. Trump has been warning you since 2016. This was never a right vs left issue. This is the Swamp attempting to course correct after an outsider managed to obliterate their carefuly constructed Uniparty. They may seem idiotic to you but I assure you, they more than plan on that fact. After all, if you think they're idiots you're less likely to comit violence in revenge than if you think they're evil. And so long as they can keep rigging the elections and keep First Past The Post third parties and independents will never be a threat.
