Painfully true about the ignorant optimism. I've seen metric fucktons of it on Twitter already in the what, week that VShojo has been 'official?' One chink (normal, not CCP bugman) dweeb even went as far to say, and I quote "now Cover will definitely let Coco collab with Melody since she's a true professional!"

Not even kidding. Plenty of other examples of similar sentiments that I've seen now, too. Dunno what these people don't get. But, like I said a few pages back, only a matter of time until a "go-getter" like Callie extends an olive branch to one of their more....normal members.

They already kinda have, but no idea if it was intentional or not. I just got that vibe when I was watching Froot/Apricot's debut stream. She had this slide talking about VShojo as an agency and she made it a point to put "A TALENT-FIRST AGENCY" and "MY CONTENT BELONGS TO ME" in big-ass capital letters.

I could very well be reading too much into it but that seemed like a snark at Hololive to me.

That doesn't seem like a talent-first agency if she has to shill like that. Plus, marketing is always about implication. "Talent-first" as a selling point when you come out is pretty much going to be "We're not doing the thing that we're accusing the others of doing".

So I guess in the end, she's still just a product for Vshojo.

Much like all the devs who became Epic shills because they paid 12% more per transaction slowly becoming more and more vitriolic at people still buying their games on Steam because they realized that a larger percentage of nothing doesn’t mean much, I suspect that this is a sop that they will quickly realize doesn’t mean much when no one wants to see their content.

To me that sounds very much like a classic MCN, such as Machinima. The only real benefit to being part of vshojo is cross promotion between other members and possible legal protections. Otherwise it might just be a way for Gunrun and MowTenDoo to take their money without so much as lifting a finger.

Cover may fuck up from time to time in terms of protecting their talent, but make no mistake: YAGOO genuinely cares about the people under his employ, even if he doesn't say much. He even acknowledge Civia and Kira's graduations when they left, just saying "Thanks for your hard work." His more lengthy public statements really do make him out to be a guy who stands by the mission statement of the company "bringing the world together through the power of vtubers" or some shit.

I have worked with people who wrote stuff like this, and believe me, this is just a PR mouthpiece from VShoujo and Melody. Everything here tends to show the audience that Melody and the VShoujo is an alternative for Hololive, if not equal to the Hololive. So their marketing game has started huh? The omission of Nijisanji is also telling
At least the writer went and "research" a bit about Vtubers. Gotta credit where it's due.
