Many old school right wingers before the Reagan era did not trust the military or police. The police were usually in the pockets of the Democrats.
The more people you involve the more difficult it is to keep OPSEC. We're not talking about a Waco or Ruby Ridge. You know, small, isolated incidents. We're talking about suspending the constitution and trying to impose Martial Law on the entire country. It will never happen. An operation that large, you are bound to get revolts.
