Ted Kaczynski was right when he said that people are permitted to have any beliefs they want, so long as they are without consequence. What is the point of free speech when in the event you say something with real world consequences you are silenced?

I agree it is unreasonable to ask Josh to stand up against the FBI alone. However, his acknowledgment that SIG did nothing wrong would be appreciated.

Free speech is a compromise with tyranny. The only position which is compatible with liberty is unfettered speech. It is only when you may say anything, that you are protected from everything.

The reason this country exists is because some people who would be called "terrorists" today got together and said to the government, "If you do not do what we want we will kill you and the people who support you". Yeah well about that shit, people usually seem to think these days that the tar in "tar and feathers" was something like road tar. That would literally kill you. The actual tar used in that ceremony was pine tar or other wood tars, i.e. more or less harmless. It was intended as a form of humiliation, not corporal punishment. Nobody died from it. You just got to look like a fool.
