Biting the hand that feeds - A brief history of the Kiwi Farms and why A&T is the redheaded stepchild of the site.

You can come into the garden and do whatever you want, that doesn't mean you can shit in the fountain.

There are certain unspoken rules pretty much anywhere, don't yell fire in a crowded movie theater for instance. If you're dumb enough to go to a public forum and make threats to kill people, expect to be cornholed by the FBI.

I want to know where this idea of "free speech means I can say literally anything and face no consequences for it" comes from. I've been wondering it for a while, honestly.
For so long as the idea has functionally existed in law, there have been carved out obvious exceptions for a whole host of things.
Literally how the fuck could conspiracy be a crime otherwise? Or libel? Or slander? Notwithstanding that no country has ever brokered singular, universal, wholly unmitigated "free speech."
Free speech is not a legal construction, it is a moralist concept, and its meaning is literal. It means speech that is free, unrestrained in any way. The first amendment is not free speech. The US does not have absolute free speech. No country on earth does. People like me who are free speech absolutists believe that things like libel and slander, or even incitement to violence, should not be illegal.
Defenders of free expression have never gone out of their way to defend actual threats of violence - or even expressions, like Siggy's, that were too close to the real deal. The point has always been that if people are suppressed from being able to call a dumb tranny a fucking blight and drain on society that's grooming teens to cut their bits off, it's going to end up worse if you stifle them with the government's blessing than if you either ignore or rebut them. There's no legal body nor political body which has ever achieved so much as changing a lightbulb which supports the idea of you being able to say "I'm going to commit this violent act of terror at this place" and avoiding heat for it.
Which is why I do not support those political or legal bodies.

All that said, I'm not gonna sperg out at Joosh for not instigating free speech absolutism any more than I'm gonna sperg out at my senators. I understand their position, it's coherent, and it's sensible. It's just not mine.

Link ten of them.
Fox, Reddit, CNN, Medium, Forbes, Facebook, Twitter, 4chan, GitHub, Gab

Link them yourself. Politisperging is the most ubiquitous activity online. You could find an average A&N thread or its lefty equivalent on any thread of any website if the article is about anything even remotely related to a hotbutton issue.

Despite the fact that I enjoy the political content, attracting the kinds of spergs who unironically support "lol u can say ANYTHING dont b a pussy" adds nothing. A regular shitpost can at least get a laugh, though, but these people are just, like. You're engaging with some sped who isn't in charge of their own pocketbook 100% of the time, taking on a considerable risk of them fedposting... for what benefit?
Usually the line is put at saying something that bring provable harm on another person. But once you get into the realm of "hurting feelings is a crime" then basically every sentence is a possible jail sentence if you piss off the wrong people. Though I won't say it's a fair to argue that Defenders of free expression don't die on the hill of fake threats of violence means those threats are not along the lines free speech.

I think the part of the problem is extremism on the other side has grown so much that it's tending to fuel the "reactionary" side of things. The ban on the word "nigger" on the "corporate"/"woke" side of the web only makes it more appealing to use, even if it's for (and, for the most part, has always been) shock value. I think the real problem is people are afraid that by censoring the limits of free speech, Kiwi Farms would be heading in the direction of mainstream sources like Twitter or Facebook letting the left have free reign of discussion years but start questioning the election and getting your posts flagged (or worse), or, at the extreme end, something like ResetERA, where you can banned for even suggesting that women, non-whites, or LGBT people could be wrong about something, and having discussion shut down with made-up reasons like "whataboutism".

I think Null realizes this, and his threats to shut down the site is the "necessary" alternative to having KF get hijacked by tranny mods that will start handing out bans for the most petty of transgressions and harm the site's legacy (much like what happened with SA).

The way I look at it, I imagine God giving me a choice of two silver platters. On one platter is a society free of the bullshit that has swamped us. On that platter is hanged bankers, absolute free speech, a return to moral normality, etc. On the other platter is getting to laugh at a fat retard.
I would choose the latter, 100%.

If you've gotta get rid of politics to keep the funny, nuke A&N from orbit just to be sure.

I don't know any. Well one, but that site is not in English. Doesn't mean they don't exist but I don't go to a lot of forums. It would actually be nice to have a couple of links. It's the reason null made this thread but no one's posted anything. People just whine about happenings and articles without giving the people who have an interest in knowing what's going on another place where they can know what's going on.

I doubt there's that many. Everything is pretty locked down and micro managed online in current year.

...I'm not sure since you might not be kidding, but my assumption is the sites you listed were a joke.

Null just shut the site down and move on with your life. This shit isn't worth it and neither are any of us faggots. Especially this faggot:

While I am 100% pro freeze peach I don't think anyone should tolerate actual violent threats. IMO, Sig never actually contributed to anything and I think we're better off without him. Change my fucking mind, I dare you.
Fucking faggot.

Keeping this website up has been a struggle for years. Starting in January 2016, the forum has had an escalating series of financial, technical, and legal issues. I have endured personal hardship for it. I very firmly believe that people should be able to say what they want. The users who've been here to longest understand that I have been swatted several times. Someone wrote a shooting threat to the highschool I attended in my name, which I was detained over. They wrote a bomb threat to a children's hospital using my email service, which I was interrogated over.
from what I have seen, most people who face opposition for their political principles do not manage to live by them for a solid year. Anyone who does it for a lifetime ends up miserable, it isn't reasonable to ask of a person. null has more than done his part, asking for more is fucking greedy.

"If this site won't allow me to fedpost, it must be destroyed"

Suspicious similarity to muslim ideology there, buddy.

In general accusing people of being feds is a fed tactic. Worked really well in breaking up the hacker group 'Anonymous.' I know as much because one stated as much in a documentary about Anonymous. Null did what Null had to do.

Going to refrain from soapboxing about the seriousness of domestic terrorists Harris/Biden attempting to subvert the nation through a shell game and the right is on the verge of HAVING TO fight back as the 2A is there for, but SIGSEGV was obviously joking and he was one of my favorite posters here. I hope I survive here, but if I don't it will be because I'm not going to act like now isn't the time for the right to be mad as hell and ready to fucking fight with their lives, because now is the time for the right to be mad as hell and ready to fight with their lives.

Meh, I go here for sanity. Why I haven't been in A&H much this last month. Looking forward to Secret Santa.

Can't make it his shit up.

The ability to sperg about politics needs to be contained completely to some other site. Every time there's been a high profile ban in the last two years it's been some A&N/A&H poster with no self-control.

This is a site for laughing at idiots, not a haven for angry lunatics.
No, many of them have been as a result of chat and supporter faggotry. Guess what Sig was a regular of? Both. I'm not defending A&H, Lord knows there's plenty of retards I've pissed off for mocking them. However, the biggest bans have been people like Ratspeaker, who decided to go full retard.

Null I don't know you but please take care of yourself first, you know? I say this as a fellow human being.

There are some things I would miss a lot, and I really appreciate the generosity of you and a few select others here. That being said, I'm just happy this place happened at all. Everybody and everything moves on.
