Well it sounds like the kid ran into the back of a stopped truck loaded with steel. I am willing to bet he was going very fast, and when he impacted the rear of the stopped flatbed it was like hitting a brick wall. I think Euro trucks have lower steel closer to the ground at the rear, so it isn't as easy for you to be decapitated. I don't care what you're driving, if you hit a stopped truck at high speed its going to be severe. He may have been distracted and didn't know the traffic had stopped. We will just have to wait for the accident report to be completed.
