Plagued Super Smash Bros. Community

But that doesn't make them immune to criticism, suggestion, correction, critique, or just general complaints. Which is what you Bowser Boys seem so hung up on. Yes of course they can legally C&D stuff and DMCA shit down, normally those types of people who campion that don't end up on the farms tho.
That's not what we're doing, though. We've all acknowledged how unfair Nintendo has been with their copyright protection and DMCAs in the past and now.

You and a few others are just under the idea that because we aren't lambasting Nintendo in this instance, we're simping for them instead.

People are so bloodthirsty that it makes them pretty annoying if you try to sound remotely nonbiased, maybe they should at least take a hot shower to mull it over and think a little more

I haven't been following this drama much but I am curious. Are people just supposed to forget that, literally within this year, there was a massive sex scandal in competitive Smash that resulted in two of the faces of the game being blacklisted? I haven't seen a single #FreeMelee advocate even mention it. If I were running a company, I wouldn't want to even touch the competitive scene with a ten foot pole after that, although I probably wouldn't send a cease and desist or whatever. Are we just supposed to have forgotten about that, or is this just Twitter dot com being Twitter dot com?

Nintendo isn't entitled to unthinking customer loyalty.
Yes, but at the same time other Nintendo gaming communities probably shouldn't push their luck given recent events.

I think the communtiy's trying to ignore that drama. Wouldn't be too out of character for them, though.

Also, the cease and desist was less because of the community's recent scandal and more because of legal reasons (Nintendo hates emulation and the Slippi Tournament had that along with the possibility of pirate copies being used).

"Hey so the Smash Community did something dumb and hurt their relationship with Nintendo - we should do the same!"

Play dumb games, win dumb prizes.
