SIGSEGV's post was just asking for trouble, ironic or otherwise. The fact is he sent a true, credible threat with state intent at a specific location and a specific target. That Null was contacted by the FBI should surprise no one. Null continues to sacrifice much of his life keeping his site alive, and to see others take it for granted and act spiteful when someone they share sympathies with gets banned is simultaneously disheartening and disgusting. These people have no skin in the game and have nothing to lose when the chips are down. You people are cancer. Thus, I fully support his decision to ban SIGSEGV. When you fedpost, you ruin it for everyone. There is nothing on this site worth expressing such sentiments over.
On the other hand, it seems the people clamoring for A&N and Happenings's respective removal just want to desperately "own the cons" because they lost too many debates, thus are acting in bad faith. As others have pointed out, the incriminating post happened in the Deep Thoughts board as opposed to the other two, so the burden of proof is on you to show that a causal link exists between those two boards and motivations to fedpost.
Yes, the express purpose of this site is documenting eccentric behavior and mocking the entirely willful decisions of stupid people. I am not blind to the fact that site is chiefly for having fun. However, mocking idiots and having serious discussions are not mutually exclusive. Kiwifarms is one of the few places on the internet where people of any political background, provided they're levelheaded and humble, can civilly discuss everything from idiots on the internet to serious issues, usually together. Some will actually
drop relevant knowledge whenever a retard like MovieBob utters a mindnumbingly stupid take on a particular issue which not only clears the air but explains why said cow is stupid. Kiwifarm is for more than just shitposting, people. Believe it or not, you can actually learn something.
There are many who like to focus on politics, namely myself, because normie-friendly sites like Reddit, Twitter and Facebook all effectively act as progressive hugboxes in being moderated by similarly minded people eager censor virtually everyone to the right of Bill Burr. It's also telling a huge swath of the people of interest and communities are full of such people which explains why they're so eager to censor. The other issue is IBs and alternative sites like Voat are both echo chambers and e-ghettos with little to no traffic and people who act in bad faith from the other side. You cannot grow if your ideas cannot be meaningfully challenged, so there is no point in having discussions there. It seems the only purpose of such sites are for unproductive purity spirals.
Anyway, that's my take on this. Remember, when you're mad at the internet, just walk away from the screen.
