General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

ehh tbh seeing their real faces isn't new and still doesn't do anything for me. Botan looks like your average woman you'll see walking around most Asian countries and Matsuri looks like a lot of Asian women on social media with too much makeup on looking like porcelain dolls. To me, vtubers are like voice actors, idgaf about their looks. I wouldn't recognize Laura Baily, Troy Baker or Steve Blum in person but you're damn sure I could pick their voices out from a crowd even from a drunken stupor.

For example the model is totally different, but I bet most can tell who this is, or who this voice belongs to.

So you want to know the truth? That guy Reza is just a shitposter who made a joke pretending as the Vtuber Reza (in virtua of same name) and made a doxx stream like Aloe. And since it happened before the real Reza's debut, people totally ate the bait. He has tricked, fooled, and bamboozled half of Indonesian Vtubers community.

I'm not great at Touhou but seeing her get so excited beating Flandre made me want to pick up the games again. I think she plays Hard by default, so I gotta step up my game if I wanna compete with the pirate.

Most music sounds the same to an extent but it's in what the artist does with it. Take away any rapper's performance to their beat and suddenly you realize most of it sounds the exact same. FAKE-TYPE and specifically AO are amazing specifically because of their vocal performance; AO has a very unique sounding voice. Dyes Iwasaki is also amazing with the saxophone and will stream himself playing it once in a while.

I had the same idea if Cover ever gets off their ass to make Holostars EN, but that'll be a while. I think the original auditions they only allowed males to audition (much like they're doing with the current VSinger auditions) because of American EEO laws forcing them to let anyone audition even if they already have an idea of who they'll let in. That said, I know my chances are slim to none because I'm definitely not really what they would look for in the holostars department (I write), so I can only hope they recruit a metalhead into their ranks.

You know I wasn't fully sold on Polka before, even though I did like her. I felt she was too high energy "wacky woohoo circus fox" for me, and then I stumbled upon some of her ASMR streams. I'm not a fan of ASMR, but there were translated clips of her talking about how she wanted to learn how to bind books and be a librarian. That threw me for a loop and I realized there's a lot more to her than just crazy energy antics, and that much like an actual circus performer, all that stuff is "part of the show" for her and she's actually a lot smarter and thoughtful than people give her credit for. A big reason I became so big into Karen and why I'm also big into Polka is because they're both women who respect words in different ways, which is cool to hear as a linguistics nut.

In terms of not-serious music, she's a fan of the Gentle Men just because it's fucking crit1kal. To throw out one other name, Tamaonsen is a group she actively works with, specifically their mixer K's. I think there are a few other doujin rap circles she listens to but that's all I can really think about for the time being; general genre and style is confirmed that she's more into west coast rap as well, without getting into specific named artists.

She tweeted this a couple days ago that while she's on break, her fans could check out her old Like A Dragon archives since she's very proud of those. It seems that this is actually one game that is allowed by SEGA so expect the EN talent to play it at some point; I know Calli and Kiara both did brand deals with Like A Dragon so because of the blanket Sega permissions they might be interested in playing the whole thing.

She's a big fan of Call of Duty, of course she'd attract the gopniks. A lot of her CoD streams had dedicated Russian translators so this isn't really a stretch.

Probably the funniest shit I've seen in a while in regards to Karen: a couple buddies of mine on a Discord noticed that she had forgotten which Twitter account she was using. She went to post under DemonDice about starting a business of some kind next year (my guess is a merch store and self publishing her DD music) and started doing her usual morning routine of going through her Calliope fanart tag and liking everything that mildly interests her...as DemonDice. She caught on after about a half hour that she was on the wrong account and scrambled to unfuck her shit but goddamn if that wasn't funny to hear about.
