🐱 Marvel Studios' Ms. Marvel DRAMA!! Cast includes sexual predator, whitewashing and more! - The salt is delicious

Marvel is under fire for some of their rumored casting choices for Ms. Marvel, resulting in #FixMsMarvel trending online. One of the upcoming MCU projects on Disney+, the show will debut Iman Vellani as the titular character, Kamala Khan. But while fans are excited for her portraying the part, it's not like that for some of her co-stars.

Khan was only introduced in 2014, making her a relatively new character, buts she quickly became a fan-favorite being the first Muslim-American superhero to star in her own comic book series. Ms. Marvel was officially confirmed at D23 Expo by Kevin Feige himself, and the project is currently in production, with various set photos making their way online and giving the public their first look at the TV show. No official cast list has been confirmed by Marvel Studios thus far, but some reported additions to the series don't sit well with a lot of fans.

A dedicated fan-page for Ms. Marvel on Twitter with the handle Ms. Marvel News collated some of the rumored casting choices for the project that are deemed problematic. That includes Andrew Brodeur, who supposedly has multiple gender discrimination charges against him. The account also cited Matt Lintz rumored to play Bruno Carelli being a Trump supporter. Finally, the hiring of Yasmeen Fletcher and Zenobia Shroff being hired to play Muslim characters when they're not in real life. Given this potential casting news, #FixMsMarvel started trending, asking Marvel Studios to reconsider these choices. Read the whole thread below:

In light of the recent controversies in casting choices, we at Ms. Marvel News would like to say that we are not associated with the Ms. Marvel streaming show, and we do not condone them. #FixMsMarvel

Andrew Brodeur, who based on his social media activity will likely be involved in the show, has had multiple Title IX allegations filed against him. https://t.co/v5Xa9AflWz

Same goes for Zenobia Shroff, who is a non-Muslim Indian apparently cast as Kamala’s Pakistani Muslim mother.

It's important to note that none of these casting choices has been officially announced by Marvel Studios at this point, so it's best to take them with a grain of salt. All that being said, Kevin Feige and his team typically don't confirm casting or any news concerning their upcoming projects without a designated event for it. Given this, it's possible that the aforementioned actors are indeed involved with Ms. Marvel prompting the Twitter account and all the other fans who share the same sentiments about the matter to speak out. While Marvel Studios has had a great track record when it comes to casting actors perfect for certain characters, they're not without any controversies. That includes the choice to cast Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One in Doctor Strange — a character who's Asian in the comics.

Fans in the comment section of the aforementioned thread are split about this issue as some of them point out that the actors' personal lives shouldn't hinder them from getting a job they're supposedly qualified for. Then again, one of the reasons why many are excited about Ms. Marvel is because of what it means with regard to proper representation on screen. Admittedly, Marvel Studios is lacking in this department, with films like Black Panther and Captain Marvel, which put minorities at the forefront of their storytelling, being released much later than movies with a predominantly white cast. It's unknown if Marvel Studios will address this issue at this point, considering that they haven't officially announced any of these actors for Ms. Marvel.

- The cast of Marvel studios' Mrs. Marvel has sparked controversy for many reasons (read the twitter thread above for receipts).
- Andrew Brodeur has had multiple sexual harrassment and violence allegations filed against him.
- Matt Lintz, who plays Bruno Carelli, is a Trump supporter and known asshole. (I’m not saying he looks like a creep, but he looks the kind of kid that would lose his mind if the police took his laptop.)
- Yasmeen Fletcher and Zenobia Shroff are half white christians playing muslim Indians.

Really Marvel? You want to appeal to the fucking Muslims right now?
A bunch of teachers got beheaded in France recently for showing the Charlie Hebdo drawings of the Muslim prophet and you morons at Harlotwood got the bright idea to make a live action show about Muslims... with barely any authentic Muslims in them.......and you didn't think in the year of our Lord 2020 that it was going to fail the internet purity testing?
Marvel probably don't want Muslims to actually watch Ms Marvel shows because they might start wondering how being a Muslim makes sense in a world where other gods have been proven to exist and thus their entire religion is a lie. Being a Muslim Ms Marvel fan is like being a flat-Earther that likes Star Trek.

Let's be honest - just like how it is in the comics, Disney is never going to be able to make Kamala Khan appeal to the masses. The show will never be woke enough to sate Twatter, it's not going to be Muslim enough to draw real Muslim interest (and it could get some severe backlash from the more extreme sects, especially if they give Kamala a gay friend or show her having anything resembling a sex life), even the most open-minded normies will quickly see that the show won't even touch the most surface level issues of the Muslim community, and longtime comic fans already despise this character for being shoved down everyone's throat for years now with no success or interest gained.

Kamala essentially exists to be Sana Amanat's self-insert and G. Willow Wilson's propaganda piece. Short of just completely rewriting the character, you're never going to make her work as a franchise character and there's no way Amanat is going to let that happen.
Kamala Khan's problem is that she was just never that interesting.

Cool we don't get stretchy shapeshifters that often as a powerset but Kamala just had the misfortune of being shoved as often as Danvers.

More people will pay attention to this drama than will watch the show.
Remember when they made a bunch of sjw superheroes, including trans/non-binary/whatever else siblings Safespace and Snowflake with dumb derivative powers and weirdly incestuous undertones, and even sjws hated them? Yeah, no one read that comic after that. Is the comic even out? I don't know, no one knows.

It is likely that neither are Christian nor half-white. Shroff is indian and Fletcher is jewish.
Like I posted in the "people getting pissed that a non-autistic actor is playing an autistic person" thread - isn't acting supposed to be all about pretending to be, I dunno, someone you're not? Rhetorical question, but still.

The only thing that actually matters in casting is whether or not an actor/actress can believably play the role of their character, to include skin tone/body and face composition. What doesn't matter is whether the actor/actress has the same mental disorder/religious views as the character they're portraying, but Twitter dullards will never get that.

I think they have fixation on fiction as reality, this is why they go with the bullshit, Politics is downstream of culture, Not having enought Pro SJW Diversity shit on TV will harm minorities etc. To them pretending is offensive and unknown. Honestly Harry Potter is net negative on mankind but i dont blame Rowling for it Like how the hell was she supposed to know ?
