Yes, hence autism. Him announcing to his twitter that he cancelled his stream, which coincided with a link to Ina’s stream, really didn’t help matters. Gravemind put it best when he said it was a streaming culture clash. That he probably got some falseflaggers posing as takos attacking him after he tried apologizing doesn’t help much to mend the culutral rift.So the thing is, doing the whole "insult as a form of camraderie" thing only works with actual good friends of yours, and in specific designated spaces like the farms and the chans.
Saying "Man she's even worse than me." as one of the first things you say in chat for a streamer, especially when you have no overlap of fanbase, is a good way for your joke to land flat on its ass and just sound like an insult.
Sui-chan is actually her character. I feel like she wasn't lying when she claimed to renounce her humanity to become idol.Marine will stream into the grave, talking about the latest BL Ultra-porn on the VR streams all along the way.
Fixed that for you.So the thing is, doing the whole "insult as a form of camraderie" thing only works around White men...
If we're playing that game, black men in America do it far more than white men.Fixed that for you.
Seriously, that's a unique feature of European culture. Foreigners and women won't get it, unless they are used to it.
Some people would argue that African-American culture is European. If we're playing that game, black men in America do it far more than white men.
For now lolThis is in the Multimedia subforum, not the Community Watch subforum.
I mean, I saw a small handful of month+ members and regulars in Ina's Discord brigading against him as well, and almost nobody stepping in to tell them to calm their asses down. That he probably got some falseflaggers posing as takos attacking him after he tried apologizing doesn’t help much to mend the culutral rift.
Brits and Northeast US men, too. By-and-large, though, be friends first, then bust balls. If we're playing that game, black men in America do it far more than white men.
This "culture clash" is annoying as hell. Both the YT community and the Twitch community are full of imbeciles who can't stop being up their own asses long enough to actually compromise. I don't mind Twitch culture but the amount of mental children I've seen bitching about the YT community rules and then breaking the rules anyway paints about as bad a picture of them as the inflexibly stuck-up and anal behavior does the YT community.Yes, hence autism. I noticed some time ago in some of the fan Discord servers the "leadership" always insisted on ignoring bad behavior and just "reporting it" instead. Report what to whom, I'm not sure but it appears to have been the server mods. This was primarily aimed at their own community at the time but grew to encompass the PRC antis. I have no doubt that the reason viewers never told the brigade to chill was because they were too busy "reporting" on Discord to the server mods. No idea what that would do if they didn't have mod powers over the YT chat. I'm not in Ina's server, either, so I have no idea whether or not the mods there are like that or are actually themselves part of the brigades and smug fan police but it wouldn't surprise me either way.I mean, I saw a small handful of month+ members and regulars in Ina's Discord brigading against him as well, and almost nobody stepping in to tell them to calm their asses down.
...okay, yeah, that sounds like General takos then. Because what I saw was a bunch of takos congratulating each others play and characters, and sticking around after the stream had ended to play Smash for a thread or two. Camaraderie instead of superiority, a literal night and day difference.Unrelated to the Jolly thing but more to the fact that Ina's community has some self-appointed "police", there were even some people waggling their asses during her Smash with members stream shittalking the people who were upset about not being able to join her lobby with the usual brand of "lol you're all crybabies, none of you are ENTITLED to be able to play with her so don't cry about it when you can't get in!" smug bullshit at people just being bummed that they weren't able to play with her.
I do think objectively Twitch offers a better streaming experience but their userbase is fucking awful. This "culture clash" is annoying as hell. I'm in those discords as well, not sure how many more there are that lurk there but I'm of the opinion that there are a fair bit that are in all of them. Communities tend to overlap a lot, and I've already openly admitted to having my fingers in a lot of pies and being able to read the room based on what community I take part in at any given time.Hot damn, are Calli's fans that cancerous?
Makes me wonder what's the general "atmosphere" of all Holo's unofficial fan discords
Maybe the only way they'll learn is if they find out their oshi fucking hates that shit. I talked a bit about it but there's a reason why I refer to the shit I have as a condition and not an illness. Illness evokes pity and I don't want to be pitied for something that's as natural to me as breathing.Do you know where you are? Plenty of people in this very thread do much the same, I'd wager. I know for a fact I'm not the only one, but I'm not about to start naming names here.
Jaeger has the right of it, at least as far as Calli's fans go. There's a small handful of people not afraid to tell the mentally ill to get their shit together, but it's also frequently said with that same, hugboxy sentiment of "learn to love yourself" just as everyone else does as well. It's been getting a little annoying, truth be told.
Surprised that shit happens with Ina's community of all people, but then again, she attracts artists.I mean, I saw a small handful of month+ members and regulars in Ina's Discord brigading against him as well, and almost nobody stepping in to tell them to calm their asses down.

Dice has a Discord server? Couldn't find any from my 5 seconds of googlingThe EN discords I think are the worst of it. I haven't seen Ina's personally because I'm really only in Calli's as well as a dedicated Karen discord to discuss her work without maintaining kayfabe
Before their cancellation I would've said "literally any HoloCN member except maybe Civia" because honestly besides her, Artia, and Yogiri, they were all forgettable. If it were just a matter of numbers, I'd say probably Choco or Iofi, maybe even Flare. They are all wildly overlooked. If Flare x Noel wasn't such a steady stream of yuribait, I suspect she would've left already. Luna's health problems are affecting her ability to work normally, in fact sitting all day at the computer might be one of the causes, so she's a suspect. Suisei, Mel, and Ayame all have things going on besides vtubing and are less invested into it, so I'm willing to bet leaving would have a smaller personal and professional impact. Coco and Korone both have the means to thrive outside of Cover's umbrella. Coco would probably face less bugmen harassment if she left, and as an indie, Korone could play games she might never be able to. A while ago I may have agreed with lolcow that Kiara lacks the temperment to survive as a corporate chuba, but it's worked out for the better since then. I don't know much about the Holostars but they seem to have an easier time leaving the company than the girls.Who do y'all think will be the first JP/EN Holo to Graduate? (yeah i know about chris and aloe but disregard em)
The shut-ins are in for good. Aqua, Pekora, Moona, Haato, Kanata, and Okayu will probably keep going until Hololive is finished.Putting my bets on Luna, she always sounds like she's dying after talking for 10 seconds
To flip the question though which Holo do you think will last the longest? There I'm betting on the entirety of gen 3
Found her discord server that was connected with her patreon as demon dice, through google,Dice has a Discord server? Couldn't find any from my 5 seconds of googling
I've been fortunate not to run into them. I focus on small-time streamers with less than 500 followers and most of those are Korean and Japanese, but even then, there have been some viewer-bases that turned me off. Overall, though, Twitch feels more intimate than YT and it is easier to find the small streamers there.I do think objectively Twitch offers a better streaming experience but their userbase is fucking awful.
I love how people write these elementary school apology essays. The entire generation has been institutionalized. Meanwhile, none of them actually learn anything or change their behaviors.Decided to check back in with Kraken because I have fuck-all to do atm. Fantastic shit.
She reminds me of a lot of girls I've known. Half the reason she's lonely is because all the guys she could date are legit spergtards or she's just flat-out not interested in them. In the case of the former, she's smart but in the latter, it's her own damn fault, really. These girls kind of generate a rotating group of pathetic types hoping to "heal one-another's loneliness" that get bored when they realize they have no chance and then mope elsewhere. While those guys are around, she enjoys the attention but that's about it. I guarantee those types show up in a lot of these fanbases but infest hers especially. As for dating anybody within the fanbase... that would be beyond retarded and I doubt she'd do that....I can definitely say that quite a few regulars are basically pity and attention whores, who are more than a little obsessed with Calli...which I can kind of understand... but nobody on any fan community is gonna stick their dick in her so they had better just keep that shit to themselves.
It was in stream chat that time. I try not to keep a close eye on her fan Discord since it gave me some weird vibes starting out, and then that first HL2 stream made me a bit irritated at the Tentacult for their own conduct. Are you talking strictly about chat, or of a discord? If the latter, how did they react to OC?
A lot of them do already know that it's Karen behind the reaper and they're well aware of, and frequently listen to, her old discography, "Sick Outta Fashion" included (given that I've seen them analyze the song at least one occasion before). You'd think they'd key into the fact that she's not about that bullshit with how devotedly they seem to follow her, but, like you pointed out just before that, a lot of them seriously ride that pity and attention whoring train for all its worth, which kind of makes their intent pretty transparent.Maybe the only way they'll learn is if they find out their oshi fucking hates that shit. I talked a bit about it but there's a reason why I refer to the shit I have as a condition and not an illness. Illness evokes pity and I don't want to be pitied for something that's as natural to me as breathing.
I mean, credit/debit cards are never issued based on moral fiber and personal conduct, and the internet has a long established history of people "paying to play," so to speak, just to shit in the butter churn. Never doubt the lengths any one individual will go to in order to attain their "lulz". Or for whatever other strange reasons drive them. You'd think if you were paying to be there (in terms of the membership streams) that you'd actually act like a decent fucking person and respect the talent, but I guess they'll give any fuckhead a credit card.

And i almost wanted to ask for a link.Maybe the only way they'll learn is if they find out their oshi fucking hates that shit. Let's MAKE oneAnd i almost wanted to ask for a link.
As much as i want to talk about Karen's work, doing it with such kinds of people seems a bit unnerving, I hate being pitied myself, and last thing i want to bother is with someone being a snowflake or a horny fuck that can't keep it to themselves.
I guess I'll just continue enjoying her music on my own.
