Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

First let's look at the art. It's got to suck right?

This also looks pretty cool. I was expecting something way more autistic.
That looks incredibly boring to me. I said from the beginning it looks stupid in my humble opinion and suddenly there's three of you jumping to Charli's defense? I think a biography on a silent film star stands out and looks really weird among other projects in comicsgate Did anyone think this would help the Comicsgate cause? Do we need to tackle this unexplored market of biographical content?

You're going to win against the SJWs with this?

How did she get so much help for a first time project? Don Delay cover, Vinnie Tartamella, Karl Stephan? How many other projects have that kind of line up on a first time book?

Whatever. I've said from the get I thought it looked stupid not sure how far I have to go to explain a subjective opinion. She's a true comicsgate believer who sends more than an average Superchatter does. Kudos to the merit of buying your way to an audience.
Do go on. What's stupid about it?

Extra points if you can explain how it's stupider than a 'Werebear'

View attachment 1778658

Also this is you ^^^
Bears are solo hunters with the best sense of smell in the animal kingdom? The best marvel book right now is about an alien suit that bonds with it's wearer on a cellular level... and blah blah all comics are ridiculous etc...Spider-man could be arguably a 'werespider'.

The Charlie's London book, to me looks stupid and got funded due to an extreme case of being a true believer in Comics gate. If someone else can come out with a biographical book maybe we will all see Charlie's is ahead of the game? Is someone working on a Three Stooges book? Laurel and Hardy?

The Art is fine on a technical level, but it looks incredibly boring to me. Congrats to her success.

It was kind of obvious from the gate that the book would be aimed at a different market than most people who buy CG books.

She got the rights to do an illustrated biography of one of the biggest legends in Hollywood. She hired an incredible artist who seems to be reproducing authentic 1920's reality from thin air, complete with likenesses, and she's already gotten commitments to place the book in museum gift shops and bookstores after fulfillment.

She networked by being kind and playing the YouTube game, offering superchats and participating with creators, in order to win their favor and convince them to work for her. She's likeable, she's fun, and people are happy to see her when she guests on my show.

The campaign has raised a substantial sum of money.

Charlies London has been more professional than any ComicsGater thus far, using the movement and the network to create a product (yes, it's a niche product, for Chaplin fans, of which there are millions) and yet, she's getting hated on for some reason.

That drawing of Chaplin you're showing is one that Charlies herself, not a professional artist, did as a tribute. It doesn't represent the book, and you know that.

I understood the Anna's Vampi hate, although that went WAAAAAAY too far. This I don't get.

Again, Mecha, you seem to think we're trying to "beat the SJWs" at some OTHER game. Creating COOLER comics? That's fine.

But all ComicsGate NEEDS to do is provide another path towards making comics, and it doesn't matter what those comics are. They can be whatever anyone wants.
The fact that there's another path that doesn't require the approval of SJWs and PC culture is how we've beaten SJWs. That's all it is.

Anyone can, if you pay those people. I'm pretty sure she paid all of them.

You forgot the Billy Tucci poster. And Nasser is right (ew) all you have to do is say "how much for this?". The Lost Pages for example has a Simon Bisley cover because they asked him.

Like my grandma always used to say "you don't ask you don't get"

Dragoon Knight Aldrake. Charlie's London. One project so retarded Frog was too embarrassed to be on camera while Wenger tried brute forcing the promotion of it. Charlie's London, it seems I cannot criticize without a simp of hers throwing around the word harassment. I've been asked to take it easy on her in DMs and not to attack her "publicly" Which is a shame, because her project is as ripe for critique as any other. It also looks stupid. That's subjective however. I hope she succeeds, but her book looks stupid. IMHO.

I see your not bringing Charlie's London up publicly again worked about as well as can be expected from you.

I did a little diving on this chick to see what else she might be about, and I figured I'd educate anyone else on who this bitch is if they're curious. I'll give credit where it's due before taking a dump on her. Unlike most of these writer "activists" she seems more relatively tame compared to the others. By that, I mean as far as screaming and crying about the evil white man and playing victim. If anyone has anything saying otherwise they can correct me, I looked back on her Twitter, but not too far, over a month and her Tweets are all relatively... nice and friendly. This is in stark contrast to many of the other professional comic writers who shit all over fans, like everyone's favorite Gail Simone.

However, I'm agreeing with Carmina. I don't thinks he gives a flying fat fuck about comics. She may not be as much as an insufferable twat like the others but she's still pushing the same shit. Just looking up her name you'll see, before she got into DC comics that most of her writing revolved around being gay and a chick, and I suppose she wrote it well enough to get recognized for it. Most of her awards are from children's book and writing about relationships and being the big gay. It was around 2016 that she came on with DC initially to write a series for Supergirl. If any of you more hardcore comic buffs can remember how that went, I'd like to see some input, because my assumption is that nobody cared or remained awake long enough to give a shit about this series.

Now? Here she is, putting her own fat ass in a comic to show us all how stunning and brave she is for being a rug muncher and being the equivalent of an asian version of a female Humpty Dumpty. Her entire career runs off of being stunning and brave. That's really it. She just seems to be better at it than most and has been doing it for a long time. But as we all know, the stunning and brave bullshit makes for shitty entertainment. She's just another asshole shitting up comics with shitty identity politics. She just isn't as bitchy about it as the rest.

Also?

Still holding out hope, Batman fans?!

Att is literally threatening to destroy you, and your response? Put Mariko on Batman?

A new challenger has appeared.
Welcome to the autismfest Mecha, feel free to sperg, a-log and chimp out to your hearts content.
I'm not sure how they do it but message the thread moderator to get verified or become a person of interest. We love when Comicsgate personalities show up here on the farms as is evident by the trail of tears left by Preston, Liam, @Grimm, geekthulu, Donal Delay and Shiela Allen.

Who wants to help dox this Michael Malone faggot?
Listen, Michael Malone, @FROG is not one of us. He doesn't dox people. Like he said in the tweets anyone who dives dick first into the culture war over comic books gets doxed, and its even funnier when they chimp out and gay cry about it.
Except for YF and Cecil. Those are the two that haven't gotten doxxed of the major players. Still surprised about that.

Mecha you are not going to make it long here.

Run now. I will drop everything on you.

Don't tease, drop it.

Boring, but not funny.

Very few people here care about fighting the SJW's. It's funny to clown on them but most of them have their own threads in the lolcow forum. There is no "We" here. "We're" not trying to win against SJW's. Charlie's fan art is just that. She's not promoting herself as a professional artist.

She got an all-star lineup of professional artists because they liked the product and she paid them. Even if they did it for free it doesn't matter.

Whether or not someone is a true CG believer is irrelevant.

Charlie is behind the game if you're talking about the three stooges or Laurel and Hardy comics. Both of those had comics decades ago and currently a company called "American Mythology Productions" has the rights to make comics about both of those IP's. They print comics every few months about the stooges and published L&H comics last year. So yes, someone is working on those comics.

For a first time comic creator Charlie has done exceptionally well. People here defend it because many of us don't see anything to criticize. Look at these pages.
20201210_101601.jpg20201210_101553.jpg
The crowd looks awesome. No one was talking about this book until you made it a topic of conversation. I barely knew anything about this project before today. Charlie doesn't chimp out, she won't create an account here and post on the farms and respects the fans. Sure, this is a niche product, but Charlie seems to be a nice person and shitting on her here is kind of a dick move.

Vikki got doxed by some sped here and the only thing we really learned about her is that she makes delicious looking spaghetti.

TUG's gay op to dox her was a huge fail. Turns out no one cares much about a dog groomer with an affinity for putting mayonnaise on coins.

Charlie officially licensed Chaplin's image from his estate. Getting the book to be taken seriously enough to sell in gift shops is probably exactly what she hoped to achieve with this book. It seems to be a labor of love and not a cash grab.

Ethan has promoted a lot of people who later went on to buttfuck him publicly. Charlie isn't going to do that. Even if she got EVS's attention through superchats it paid off ultimately because he promoted it.

If it's not funny or interesting people here won't care and will ridicule you. That's what led to people defending Charlie.

Mitch Breitweiser crying on Facebook because @suisui posted pictures of his house was also hilarious.

I understand Charlie's London. It's a book being put out by a first-time creator who obviously has a special attachment to the project.

What I don't understand is Starlight Cats...

A guy with a resume like Shane Davis stepping into the world of Independent Comics, completely free of an editor and gets to do whatever the hell he wants, I'm thinking, "Damn this might be badass."

So instead of creating a product for the target audience of CG, which is primarily men between the ages of 35 to 55 with expendable income who love comics and are pissed off about how SJW mainstream comics have gotten, he instead creates a product that targets 8 year old little girls. Makes no damn sense..

The most successful ones in CG create a franchise and build upon that franchise with sequels. If Shane Davis decides to go ahead with Starlight Cats as his Flagship series and continues building off of it, I think this is the height of folly.

To me the whole project is a slap in the face to Comicsgate fans. A professional like Shane Davis has no excuse not to understand the nature of the game. Starlight Cats is the most purest form of Bolshevik marketing I've ever seen, creating a product for a target audience that doesn't exist. Shane Davis should be creating some high T superhero shit or something badass that could have been put on the shelves in the 90s.

It just seems to me an artist of Shane's caliber is completely wasting his time on a project like Starlight Cats when he could be making something much more entertaining that could net him a lot more money by targeting the CG demographic.

The art looks fine, but I'm the type of guy that puts story ahead of art.

But hey, the book made way way more money than I thought it would, so maybe people in CG actually do want to read that trash...

The Art is fine on a technical level, but it looks incredibly boring to me. Congrats to her success.

I get the impression that anything without capes or at least guns in it would look "incredibly boring" to you McDoofy.

I'll admit that a biography of Chaplin isn't of particular interest to me but I can respect the hustle of the creator who manages to make a quality product and fund it by making good decisions and playing the game. Despite the fact I don't like Ethan I can respect the fact that he's played the game and hustled to have undeniable success with an anthropomorphic animal book. A concept that stopped being fresh when Vanilla Ice participated in the TMNT sequel. Good for Ethan. He earned it.

This isn't garbage like the Wart the Wizard book or TUG's tribute to himself. It's just what looks to be a good book about a subject you don't think is "cool".

It appears that you resent that the Chaplin book gets promotion from CG luminaries over "cooler" books that might have more appeal to twelve year old boys. This is rather telling about your character. CG and indy comics in general don't exist to cater to your tastes specifically. The fact that you're sperging about Charlie's London getting some "worthy" cape shit's spot on the CG gravy train seems like the petulant ranting of an entitled down syndrome case. Not everything has to comport to your narrow view of what's cool.

You also seem to think CG is still a movement, to think the purpose of the books is to beat the SJW's. CG is a brand for people who follow the Frog. It stopped being a movement about 2 years ago when it became about infighting and the egos of the creators. Keep up.

If your going to hate on shit at least try to hate on stuff that isn't good rather than stuff that doesn't conform to your adolescent fantasies about "werebears" and men in tights. "In my opinion" and "my subjective opinion" do not qualify as criticism. They qualify as whining. If you want to 'Make Yours Marvel' then make yours Marvel but quit whining because some people might buy something you don't think is cool enough.

Sour grapes.

Your embarrassing yourself.

Edit:

It just seems to me an artist of Shane's caliber is completely wasting his time on a project like Starlight Cats when he could be making something much more entertaining that could net him a lot more money by targeting the CG demographic.

Honoring the historical great figures of our culture is exactly what CG is supposed to be about. The SJWs are all about "it's year zero! There is no one who's made history before us with our new stunning and brave Bat-Xir!" We are about culture, history, Western civilization's exceptionalism.

I just discovered this and will be backing it. I have no idea why someone would attack this. We should be lifting it up and applauding it. Ethan is, again, right.

Isn't Cats his wife's idea?

I think he's just trying to avoid a divorce.
Shane had two ideas.

One was the cats idea.

The other was a Batman-esque vigilante.

I told him that since he was best known for creating the Red Lantern cat, he should do the cat book first.

Shane listened to me, and if he's off to a rough start, it's my fault.

He'll get the cat book out, and then I think he's going to bring out the vigilante book. Hopefully, because he did great at fulfilling the cats book, he'll have an even bigger launch with the Batman book.

But yeah. I might be an idiot.

Definitely instructional and what some people don't get. No one on the farms doxxed WC out of vengeance like old TUGplug or SJW shits do. It was for the lols. I'm not even a big fan of doxxing. They rarely are funny and mostly just sad. WC was good because of the insane real life antics of its people, Tug's was funny for the same reason.

That's just... You realize Steve didn't actually agree with you or anyone? He was just a weirdo who embraced objectivism.

I thought you didn't care about an old hashtag?

I think so but it was still a mistake to lead with this project. Maybe establish a High-T franchise and then do the cat thing on the side once it gets going like Frog did with the Brute thing? But what do I know.

Meh, Gators have a low bar to pass, unless you poisoned them on something.

I gots ta say, I do find it hilarious that CG went from being about manly men and kick-ass superheroes to having their flagship titles be about a rainbow flag draped faerie and power puff cats. lulz Renfamous must be spitting almond milk out of her nose laughing.

Oh, and Mecha McMeathead, That Pope John Paul comic I think is the top-selling comic book of all time. Not a good argument against biopicomics.

This thread is being taken over by the cows it was created to milk. I vote we move every tard here who has ever livestreamed about comic books into a separate containment thread and threadban them from all the others so they can all insult each others' books and faildox each other over there and spare the rest of us from it.

I vote we move every tard here who has ever livestreamed about comic books into a separate containment thread and threadban them from all the others so they can all insult each others' books and faildox each other over there and spare the rest of us from it.
