Marvel Cinematic Universe

Jon Watts has been announced as the director of the Fantastic Four movie (he directed the MCU Spider-Man films) and Jonathan Majors has been cast as Kang for the next Ant-Man film. Which makes me wonder if they plan on race bending Reed Richards and/or Susan Storm.

Wow. They actually have Maguire and Garfield back as spider men, and Kirsten Dunst, AND Alfred Molina as Dr.Octopus. All these losers need to do is fire whoever the director is and just give it to Sam Raimi. Let him do this film and Dr. Strange: Multiverse of Madness.
Speaking of Doctor Strange, everyone's favorite character America Chavez is going to appear...for some reason.

Jesus fucking Christ, so not only does Disney still have Spider-Man (could've sworn that went back to Sony) but we're getting Fantastic Four and America Chavez is gonna be there too?

Why won't the MCU fucking die already? COVID-19 was supposed to kill capeshit, not make it stronger!

I get your sarcasm, but does literally ANYONE actually like that shit character unironically?

Disney probably does since they're the most woke of the Hollywood big shots, and that's saying a lot.

Pretty much every Disney bigshot under the age of 40 is either a dangerhair, a troon, or a beardo.

The new list of MCU shit

Movie
Black Widow - should have been disney+ at this point
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings - action movie helmed by a guy who does quite drama movies, so won't break the trend of poor MCU movie action
Eternals - reminds me of Jupiter Ascending
Untitled Spider-Man: Far From Home sequel - cgi Spider Man will still look bad and pointless, instead of doing something smaller they want to ape of the Oscar win for Into the Spider-Verse/ prey on nostalgia
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness - first was a bore but this has Sam Rami on board who is normally good but he also did Oz the Great and Powerful for Disney that was shit, it has America Chavez a character that will need a major personality change to be anything but unlikable
Thor: Love and Thunder - Thor: Ragnarok was good when it wasn't trying to set up the next Marvel movie, if they give Taika Waititi full control this time could at least something more fresh
Black Panther 2 - Main dude just died, let the movie rest for a bit to rethink plans and have time to write a good script but nope fast track so just a few months away from shooting and out in 2022, clearly going to use his death as marketing.
Captain Marvel 2 - Brie Larson has no charisma and doubt she has somehow gained it between movies, so write the movie as if Captain Marvel isn't meant to have charisma like the rest of the MCU heroes, could do something interesting with that but they won't
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 - not much to say on this
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania - Ant Man 1 was meh, 2 was shit, let it die or replace the creative team.
Fantastic Four - 4th time lucky, but Mr Fantastic's powers will never look good in live action either too fake looking or creepy if not both.
Blade - if PG-13 who cares

Shows
WandaVision - looks different compared to the rest of the MCU but also keep talking up how it will tie into the new Doctor Strange story rather than allowing it to stand on it;s own feet.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier - more of the same old marvel shit but longer
Loki - a tv show from the villain point of very could be good but have a strong feeling they will make him into a hero
What If...? - ugly as shit
Ms. Marvel - her powers look creepy in a realistic setting see the Avengers game. The rage about the cast has already been entertaining so hoping for more of that.
Hawkeye - clearly only being madeto sent up a Young Avengers movie, feel like that is what most these projects are about. Also anyone care about MCU Hawkeye
Moon Knight - Jeremy Slater (last F4 movie, Death Note,The Lazarus Effect) is writing it so will be shit
She-Hulk - they way they talked about it reminded me too much of Single Female Lawyer from Futurama
Secret Invasion - not much is known right now, alright idea for a show but doubt they will make the Skrulls villains now
Ironheart - does anyone care about Ironheart?, if they want a black female lead tv show surely better characters to pick from, just feels like another step to set up the Young Avengers
Armor Wars -Clearly they t are making this to put an end to War Machines role in the MCU and to set up Ironheart as the next "Ironman", also feels like this type of story has been done to death int he MCU.
I Am Groot - do people still care about baby Groot?

Instead of doing fresh solo stuff, most of it feels like it's there to set something else up and not try new ideas. Pretty clear they are setting up the Young Avengers but instead of using fresh characters they will just be doing legacy characters which I doubt will work as well as they are expecting. If this line up and the amount of stuff doesn't fast track Marvel fatigue, nothing will.

Some interesting stuff there but Disney seem to have turned their retard switch to full recently so I can see it being very hit and miss much like the DCEU.

It's optimistic, but I can't see how they'll rekindle the enthusiasm for the MCU with this sorry lineup. The new movies are mostly C-listers. The sequels will need to have the audience actually recall films that came up +3 years ago.

Awww shit here comes best girl.

Thor: Love and Thunder looks to be bringing back another classic Marvel Cinematic Universe character and fans will be very excited.

According to Deadline, Jaimie Alexander will be returning to Asgard as Lady Sif in the next instalment.

And that's not all, as she's also reportedly landed a role in the Loki TV series on Disney+.

One of them is supposed to be a dyke so I hope they write off FemThor as the carpet eater and keep Sif as Thors bottom bitch.

Sorry for cribbing off your list @Product Placement but it's easier than trying to write these out from memory

Movie
Black Widow - They've taken way too long to release this thing at this point. I was mildly interested before, now it's a "maybe I'll catch this on D+ on a rainy afternoon" sort of thing.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings - No interest or knowledge in the source material. Will heavily depend on good reviews
Eternals - Zero interest and I imagine a lot of people feel the same way
Untitled Spider-Man: Far From Home sequel - Probably the one MCU film I'm looking forward to the most. I can't see it being as well written as Into the Spider-Verse, but hopefully I like it as much as I did with FFH.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness - Sam Raimi was the perfect choice for a horror film. Hopefully Mordu gets his time to shine as the actor is great.
Thor: Love and Thunder - Hopefully Taika's humour doesn't make this one as much of a chore to rewatch as it did with Ragnarok. Good film, absolutely impossible to take it seriously when it's 80% funny, 20% serious.
Black Panther 2 -
Captain Marvel 2 - No
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 - I assume this one will actually deal with Adam Strange? The Christmas special was a surprise and and right now I'm more interested in that than the third film itself
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania - I'm one of those freaks who ended up really enjoying AM2 so I'm excited for this
Fantastic Four - I wish I could love the FF, but I just find them boring
Blade - Same with Shang-Chi, will wait for reviews

Shows
WandaVision - Definitely interested even if it didn't tie into Strange 2, the premise is cool
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier - Not expecting this to be amazing, but the dynamic between Falcon and Bucky will definitely carry it in its slower moments. No idea who the new villain is
Loki - The premise is really unexpected to the point where I don't know how I feel about it. Hopefully it turns out well
What If...? - Animation is better than expected, I was fearing it'd look like the Guardians cartoon or worse.
Ms. Marvel - Casting is perfect for Kamala. Dreading what the stretch powers look like in live action after the Avengers game
Hawkeye - Meh
She-Hulk - Premise sounds fun, hopefully they can sneak Charlie Cox into the MCU by having him work alongside/against Jen as Matt Murdoch
Secret Invasion - Not sure about this one
Ironheart - Nah
Armor Wars - Cheadle deserves his own thing so I'm happy about this.
I Am Groot - Pass

WandaVision oddly works for me because of the existential horror aspect of it. It's clearly cribbing off some of House of M (Wanda remixing reality) without overdoing it (my guess is that she's gone round the bend and has created a little bubble of 'personal heaven' for herself).

And it's creepy as fuck. Who would've thought the Monkees' 'Daydream Believer' would sound ominous?

I'm not sold on What If. I like the premise and the voice work but the actual animation doesn't sit well with me for some reason. Not sure why.

IMO, the reason many of the MCU movies did so well was that they carefully mixed superhero concepts into existing genres. Captain America was a WW2 flick, Iron Man 1-2 were Tom Clancy/Robert Ludlum technothrillers, Thor was high fantasy. And a careful dose of humor was blended in as well -- an understanding that yes, this was crazy, but that doesn't mean it can't be fun.

We'll see if Feige can capture that lightning in a bottle again with the upcoming offerings.

Honestly, it would never happen because of muh empowerment, but I would have really liked it if WandaVision was a sitcom that got darker with each passing episode, ending with the revelation that it was all a self-made Matrix for Wanda to deal with her psychological issues. It'd be different from your common capeshit at least.

I'm 90% sure this is almost point for point what the show had been described as before; her going apeshit leading into Doctor Strange 2 and crazy dimension shit.
