It was mentioned somewhere in a post that is was due to some element of submission as in the whole dom and sub thing.
I think that's part of the enjoyment, along with a prey/predator thing... Needless to say, individuals that enjoy vore have more than one screw loose, but 9 times out of 10, they're extremely lonely.
