Seriously what is he gaining by acting like such a spastic? You can say "There is no such thing as bad publicity" or something similar but when it comes to selling pokemon cards which is still a relatively closed community (In fact the hype is finally dying down and normal collectors can return to it after the latest hype flodded the market) you REALL don't want that as a shady seller is something people avoid like the plague. His arrogance and just acting like a huge manchild is honestly why people are pissed of more right now rather than being a scammer (Well the scam is a bit factor too).

Off topic, kinda, but I have to say it: the Pokemon SwSh fandom is fucking insufferable.

They all can't stop slobbering over the knobs of the characters, yet act so annoying about them, like they're better than any character ever. Sonia, Leon, Raihan, Nessa, Gloria...Are all super perfect and beautiful and complex and diverse and deep and if you dislike them you are a hater and a Nazi that wants to kill fat POC or something. Saying anything negative about these boring characters, or how you prefer characters from previous Gens, gets you hate like no other.

Aside from some having good design most of the characters have essentially zero development beyond "I'm a gym leader so we fight now".

Hop is the only character that actually has a character arc, and that's him getting over being in Leon's shadow the whole game. TBH I couldn't stand Hau and feel like Hop is a better character despite them both being barely a character at all. Marnie is essentially non-existent throughout 90% of the game but her battle music is fantastic.

Though if you're going into a Pokemon game for the story and you're above the age of 10 you might need to take a step back and look at yourself.

That’s why I think Gen V is the best with the plot and gameplay balance. As I said before in another thread gen V did the whole friendly rival deconstruction better than SwSh with Bianca, and we actually see her arc pay off in the sequel when she becomes the professor’s assistant.

Yeah, sounds bout right except there's a lot of simping over Bea and Melony. One of those, I am ok with, the other is 12, I think. Also Lots of blackwashing, especially Piers, Marnie and the player. Also people getting accused of being racist for not liking Rose for literally manipulating a child and people equalize that for not liking him because he's dark skinned.

Probably are afraid to write their self-insert fics without being accused of them being Mary Sues or the authors are lazy writers (despite this being Pokémon, it wouldn't be out of place). NPCs with personalities already had the work done for them and are therefore more attractive but the admirers (if you can even call them that) are too shallow to realize that's actually the reason. Overall, they just want to watch exotic-looking characters fuck each other.

Could use some help for anyone in the know with this potential thread topic:

Spoiler: Summary

Logan Paul (who is surprisingly irrelevant to this particular individual and the entire shitshow that later ensued) bought an unopened box of 1st Edition Pokémon cards from an auction, with the intention of selling off the individual cards for charity money. So far so good. The catch is, he brought in this guy named "Collectibles Guru" (aka Jake) who claims to be an """"expert"""" when it comes to Pokémon and other vintage TCGs/properties worth a lot of money. When Logan asked the guy on stream about how much one of the Bulbasaur cards was worth, he threw out this ridiculous range of $10-30k DESPITE the card only being worth $3-4k tops. That quickly became a meme amongst many people in the community.

Ok, so he fucked up on that one estimate. Mistakes happen. Why is this relevant? Well, after the stream with Logan, Collectibles Guru was invited onto another stream with these guys from a channel called "Dumb Money." They wanted to copy the same success that Logan Paul's 10Mil+ livestream had by opening their own box of 1st Edition cards. Somehow, unbeknownst to the guru himself, the gang would be opening the box live in front of thousands of online viewers. Immediately, he brings up this ludicrous backstory about where he got the box from and why there happens to be a bit of denting on the box itself. Once the guys open the box, they quickly realize that someone had swapped out the 1st Edition packs. Guru right away picks up his phone and somehow reaches the seller of the box in only a couple seconds. He talks with the guy over the phone very nonchalantly about how the box was totally fake and that they need to fix this ASAP. He then gets off the call, explains that the seller (who is CLEARLY UNTRUSTWORTHY) has two more unopened boxes, and that they'll just open those ones instead.

Oh right, forgot to mention how Maxmoefoe and others in the livestream chat were all shitting on the guy the entire time. Which has me wondering what other shit he's been up to prior to this shitshow.

TL;DR: This bald sleazeball, who claims to be some sort of Pokémon TCG/vintage collectibles expert, attempted to scam some guys out of thousands of dollars for a 1st Edition box of cards. He apparently is very infamous within the Pokémon (TCG) community, though only recently has he blown up after a few videos were made from popular creators making fun of him.

Guru has also responded to Wubby in DMs after the video dropped, where he comes off as very petty and insecure:

I actually remember watching this out of just being random. The way how they drop the cards without even taking proper per cautions on how the boxes should be handled was too much to deal with. The way how these two analyzed the situation actually made it out to be a very interesting subject on how I’m now aware that there are a thing called “Pokémon vintage card scammers”.

Apologizes for posting without any cow antics but I had written a post about Ganix, one of the weirdo degen furries who was one of the many names involved with the Pokemon Prototype leaks (Spaceworld leaks, etc etc) a really long while ago.
