So since we were discussing "Hitmontroon" in SJW Art and Extremes, it felt appropiate for me to post this here. Granted, they're not really "troons" persay, moreso genderbends/genderswaps, but still relevant.
Not going to lie, I kind of like the implication that, in a parallel universe where the Hitmons aren't 100% male, the male Hitmonchan wear skirts, and the females wear actual boxer shorts. Think I've seen something like this in Pokemon Reboot, too.
The starters are definitely knockoff looking to me. View attachment 1727066
The water one has way too much detail in the patterns, the grass one is just dwebble with moss, and the fire one is just a regular Chinese dragon with vaguely flame-like fur.
All very boring.

Pokémon Azurite is a fangame that's still in production, but has a handful of Pokémon to show to us, as well as new Mega Evolutions, regional forms, and even the brand new "Crystallizations", which is basically Mega Evolution but with... crystals.
The player character's mom is also a strong independent woman who needs no man. Perfect for the fatherless protagonist!
... Though, to be fair, the concept of the player's mom being more important to the plot than just simply being there could be a fun idea.
Here are the actual Pokémon that Azurite has to offer in its vast region.

I don't really care much for the starters, especially the frog/salamander one (looks a lot like croagunk), as they are a bit generic/bland looking compared to the others. The crystals are interesting, and I do really love some of the variants, but a lot of the original pokemon do look rather bland by comparison (like the generic blue husky or pikachu clone that resembles the offspring of a pikachu and a miltank).

Shadow Breloom has some cool ideas but that weird space blob kinda ruins it for me. The cosmic Spiritomb does look pretty awesome, though. By far the worse regional forms here are Plusle and Minun. First off, why would pika clones have their own regional forms, secondly, they're WAY overdesigned and have like 10 things going on at the same time.
Kurian Tyrogue is an interesting idea (albeit similar to Eevee in a way) but something about his face puts me off. Maybe because he doesn't look angry or focused like he usually does.

Is Azurite and Insurgence by the same people? Because... Wow, that's really similar, the only difference is that the mega has less moss. Pretty sure they can get in trouble for this if this design isn't just reused by the same person.
Huh. I suspect Azurite's a sequel, or at the very least related to Insurgence. Maybe it adds onto Insurgence's story in a way?
Also, they predicted Fairy-Type Galarian Weezing... Sort of.
Not going to lie, this looks more fairy than the official design.
Apparently Kurian Tyrogue is Normal/Fighting, and the reason why it looks "friendlier" than normal Tyrogue is because he's weaker, but grows stronger easier. It's Prodigy ability boosts it's attack and speed growth as it levels up, which sounds all fine and dandy until you realize that higher attack means it'll evolve into a Hitmonlee.
And if this ability boosts it's attack growth, but never defense... Well, that means it's gonna just be Hitmonlee.
In terms of appearance, stats, and everything else besides the baseline design, seems the Kurian Hitmons are much different from their cousins in Kanto (And Johto?). In that, they don't actually evolve based off of stats, but rather some mysterious factors... Which is probably choosing the starter that counters it.
Probably the strongest design of the three, though the spikes are a bit much and the wooden texture could look more "genuine".
Does anyone here know about Fireboy and Watergirl? No one? Also, those gloves are looking quite small there, Hitmonchan. Might wanna get some new ones at the local Dick's, y'know?
... In seriousness, the clothing makes me think of templars for some reason.
This one's kinda interesting, as it takes the spinning top aspect and adds whirlpools to it. Maybe I wouldn't mind it as much if its tail didn't become so fish-like, and it's arms didn't turn into penguin flappers, because that makes him look kinda weird. It's supposed to be a dancer that spins on his head, don't really think you need to empathize that it's a water type when the colors and flipper-like feet already communicate that. It's tail could've been similar, but the ball would've been more similar to these:
Also... Wait, lemme look at those stats real quick. Is Hitmonlee's stats more equal than Hitmontop's? What...? I get the defense may go up a little bit from the tree bark covering it's body, but still. Hitmontop's whole gimmick is that it's balanced, stat-wise and design-wise.
Apparently, there will be alternate shinies in Azurite. Meaning that "boring" or "ugly" shinies will be changed to look much nicer. Judging by the fact that there's three differently colored Pikachus here, I feel there will be 4 variations of the same mon in total. This is actually a thing in SwSh, where shinies called "ultra shinies" have different sparkles, but their color does not change besides that.

Have you guys seen this latest video from Subjectiveity? This one, as you can see, is based around festive forms for pokemon.
The pokemon:
It's design is alright. My only nitpick is that it's directly referencing the Jewish religion (by having the symbols on it's body). When no other official pokemon is as obvious with it.
I really like this design. Not much else for me to say about it.
The guy says that you get this one through evolving a Jolly nature Toxel. I have no thoughts on the design itself.

Doesn't jolly-nature Toxel already evolve into Amped-Form Toxtricity? Ah well, at least Subjectively became slightly less obnoxious.
UmbreonLibris, on the other hand... eh.
