Simple: Delaware has a... generous corporate tax code. It allows relatively easy ways to hide money from prying eyes. Lots of Fortune 500 companies are registered in Delaware for this express purpose.

There are other reasons as well. I've found a short article here (archive)that details why Delaware is so attractive for businesses, large and small.

Neogaf had a modicum of influence because developers and journalists posted there so it became an "official" channel of discussion between gamers and the industry. Twitter, for better or worse, made that irrelevant and thus Resetera's influence diminished and as more stupid shit happens there developers will be less likely to be involved with it.

Yeah I know, based chink is just stepping up his end game. Maximize profits from tranny outrage whilst operating in the shadows and throwing his unpaid jannies to the zoo animals.

I don't know shit about that, but couldn't it be that Resetera is costing more than it brings in terms of taxes ? Maybe the website isn't that profitable but taxes keep coming ? Is that possible ?

Because if that's not the above, it clearly tells you a lot about the whole hypocrisy. A so-called "progressive" place that strive on non-paid staff and tries to avoid taxes as much as it can.

What taxes would you have to pay if you aren't making money?
They are a doubleplusgood site from Googles prospective, I'd be surprised if they weren't making at least five figures a month from ads.

Swooped in and cucked Tyler Malka by taking his whole userbase, stuck around for a few months, bailed when the first tranny summit kicked off. Since then has been hiding in the shadows whilst the inmates lynch jannies and pin everything on B-Dubs.

In terms of lolcows, it's a complete success story. Making bank whilst doing nothing and not needing to spend any of your time answering reports and PMs from screeching mentally ill people.

Resetera even had some shareholders at the start, but they were quickly bought out (original admins). Cerium/Isamu Fukui now owns 100% of Resetera. Got that under control as well.

Not only does Isamu have a payment subscription service, the site is riddled with ads especially when viewed as a guest. He's making decent $$$ each month for doing nothing. Probably selling userdata as well seeing as the site forces everyone to use paid/work emails.

Idk, the US system is complicated for an oustider. Maybe they made a lot of money at the start, but have to pay their taxes based on what 2 years after, when they don't make as much money ? Taxes can get stupid. I use to play two rather big concerts per year in the US (NY) a while ago, I got fucked pretty good by your taxe laws. I didn't even break even at the end of the day because I paid those late... Maybe I should have bothered with a laywer.

It's surprising the members and the staff all agree with that. You have one guy pocketing all the money, just like Evilore did. The staff being vocal at how they're stretched thin without being paid a dollar and yet, everyone is rolling with it.

Cerium should be very careful imo. Profiting from people THAT much always backfires in one form or another.
