I feel like he's legit:
Forgive the "woo", but there's some cholinergic energy that proceeds top-downwards in the body, and it was only proceeding so far as from my head to my neck. And the lower limit of this energy was involuntary and TIGHT, like a clenched fist. When it was in every muscle in my neck, it left me risking a most infernal cramp, but then it proceeded a little further downwards - and it was every muscle in my chest, and I couldn't breathe. I ran into an ER basically breathing by screaming, and scaring everyone who thought I had COVID.

From what I could parse, it seems like he thought there was some sort of chemical produced from headache medicine that would lead to schizophrenia called "carbonation grimace" and that in order to test if it was the headache medicine or if it's something you're born with, you had to pinch the upper cheek muscle and if you feel yourself grimacing at bad soda and felt that muscle, it was a sign of schizophrenia. He kept trying to tell this to his psychiatrist as a way to explain how he gained schizophrenia from birth (I think?), and then when he said that's just actually complete bullshit, his next course of action was to set the building on fire for speaking such heresy. And even then I'm not sure if that's right because it's so pants-on-head retarded.

It somehow never crossed his mind that it was just his cheekbones moving after he reacted to drinking bad soda. No, it was them cheekbone muscles what made him not right in the head.
