According to Google, there is roughly 328.2 million people in the US. 24K a year per citizen is $2,000 per person every month. In a single month, it would cost the government $656.4 billion per month just to give everyone money to sit around and do absolutely nothing. In a single year, that would be $7,876,800,000,000. Note, none of this money is going to his proposed universal healthcare and free education. None of this money is being used to fund things like fire departments, fixing roads, maintaining a military, maintaining a police force that will be properly trained to handle dangerous situations without shooting people, or literally anything society would need to function.

Where are we getting this money, Kevin? The national debt is already $27 trillion, so we clearly do not have it.

The gov't here decided they needed to piss away some money, so they announced several residential "free money" programs: subsidies for modern, more eco-friendly cars, house renovation/remodeling, several incentive programs to "increase birth rates", that kind of stuff. As a result, the price of these things increased precisely by the maximum amount that can be received by a single applicant, the complete opposite of what they wanted to achieve.
