HRC program details...
"Today, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation (HRCF), the educational arm of the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) civil rights organization, announced the launch of a new small grants program as a part of the organization’s Transgender Justice Initiative (TJI). The program will award $30,000 nationally in the form of 30 $1,000 grants to community members advancing transgender justice initiatives rooted in partnership with outside organizations. Four grants per city will be available in Atlanta, Cleveland, Dallas, Kansas City, New Orleans and Philadelphia."

Plus "The Human Rights Campaign Foundation is also proudly supporting Destination Tomorrow’s work offering one-time COVID-19 rapid response grants to trans and non-binary community members in need. The grants will be available nationwide. During this increasingly difficult time, many transgender people who already face high rates of poverty are in need of additional assistance. Destination Tomorrow is providing emergency aid grants for help with food, housing and other basic necessities."

OK it's USA but how long before yaniv starts "campaigning/whining/demanding" for Canada to follow suit and for him to put himself first in the queue for those much needed $$$.

Doesn’t he have a brand new car? Why does he need tires?

Canadian Tire is tough to explain to a non-canadian. It's a massive store that's more like a hardware store than a tire shop. They do sell tires but they also sell tools and supplies for cleaning, painting, plumbing, auto parts, etc. Almost 100% of the products they sell are extremely low quality made-in-china stuff. Some of the tools are okay but for the most part it's a warehouse full of cheap chink shit. That being said it's commonly known that most Canadian's do enjoy a trip to Crappy Tire considering they sell practically everything. They're one of the few stores that let you bring your dog in.

Ohhhhh sounds like Harbor Freight. Cheap store that sells tools and shit. Good if you are tight on Money and need something but don’t expect it to last. Though the quality has gotten better over the years.

Not...quite. We have something similar to Harbor Freight called Princess Auto. Canadian tire sells a little bit of everything. You can buy not only automotive stuff, but camping goods, some seasonal stuff, bikes, boating supplies, household goods, a gardening center, and swimming pool supplies there in addition to a large plethora of hand tools. I don't have a great American comparison for you. Think Harbor Freight crossed with a tire/mechanic shop - and add on some form of department store.

Oh, and they hate selling stuff. Finding someone to help you is impossible.

Home Depot/Lowes add in a small Walmart and season with touches of AutoZone.

I lived in Ontario for a bit and used to shop a fair bit at Canadian Tire. Decent quality and the selection was great. Definitely higher tier than Horrible Freight/Princess Auto.

Princess Auto is better than Horrible Freight solely because one of their tool lines is named "Power Fist".

Considering how JY loves to hold a grudge, I'm surprised he's so up the HRC's ass, since the organization has an extensive history of transphobia.

Also Re: Crappy Tire, they were the very first store (in Canada anyway) to have sort of a 'points' program in Canadian Tire money, which is given to you on every purchase at I think a 5% rate, which is actually spendable on anything in the store. It was absolutely revolutionary back in the 1950s when they establish it. Some other stores actually accept Canadian Tire money at par, if they buy alot of stuff at Canadian Tire themselves.

I hear they are going to be switching to a standard card-based 'rewards' card but still keeping accepting and issuing CT money to non-card holders, which is pretty cool of them.

In my house, Canadian Tire is now referred to as Cambodian Tire. It used to be the store was 100% Canadian made products. Not anymore. At the start of the pandemic I bought my KitcheAid pro mixer with the bowl lift for $329 CAD, an unheard of price. I even got it in the colour I wanted. I went in to by knives a few weeks ago. They were sold out of what I wanted so the guy offered me a comparable (better according to him) set at the same price, which was 2/3 off. The knives are fantastic and have a lifetime replacement warranty.

We gave up Canadian made but we can get top brand products at low prices. You know, stuff that is too good for Walmart.

Harbor Freight is AAA compared to Canadian Tire. Real tools only come from Snap-On or Princess Auto.

They have already swapped to points cards as of at least Sept. of last year, you can bring in all your paper CT "money" and get it added to your card account.

Fatboy here sounds like he's ordered a set of tires though, and only 1 showed up. Stupid as fuck, Canadian Tire has the best prices in Canada for tires, my tireguy said to me, "Go to CT, you'll save at least $100 compared to what I can get." They sell Motomaster rebranded tires, my truck has Cooper Discoverer rebrands that are made at the same factory, with the same DOT code and tread patterns. $750 for 4 instead of $1,500+.

E: I should not post before coffee
