Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

If you want to see how most of the doomers think, go to the NYTimes comments section of a coof-related vaccine article. You'll see a bunch of smug morons bleating about how "Covid deniers" should either be "put in the back of the line" for the vaccine, or, should be altogether banned from getting access to it. This is literally how they think. They want to punish the apostates. One would think, if this were a real pandemic, it would go to the most in need, regardless of their political affiliation or beliefs. This is literally how doomers think though; they want the coof-deniers to die.

Particularly interesting to me was a guy saying that we should use the Covid vaccine as an opportunity to teach children about the efficacies of vaccines (children, mind you, who have less than a what, 1/100000 risk of death from this thing). "But", he said (paraphrased), "how do we compel their idiotic parents to give their children the vaccine?" Yes, let's test this on their children, because we want this to be a learning experience, that will show their parents!

These people are insane.

For the areligious like myself, this smacks of religion. A cult of doom. All must prostrate themselves before the coof. "Please Coof, spare me today. Please Coof, strike down the heretics, they do not acknowledge your might and power."

Meanwhile, I already got the coof in May. I got the sniffles. Very scary stuff guys. But people are already pressuring me to take the vaccine when it becomes available. Imagine taking a vaccine for a virus one has already been infected with. That said, extremists are the ones making the rules here (reminds me of Taleb's Skin In The Game). At the end of the day, I really don't care as much as the extremist doomers do, and invariably I'll bend to the perssure; "yes yes yes, I'll take your vaccine, stop yelling in my ear faggot". What normal person wants to lose their job over a vaccine or a mask. Normal people are just going to comply and move on with their lives.

Fuck this gay earth.

These cunts. They want to see you fired, unemployed and destitute for refusing the vaccine. These people are "experts". Their contempt for ordinary people just confirms how detached and mentally unwell lots of academics are.

Never forget this: these experts, especially the fat cunt who is an imyooouuuuunolllllerrrgist do not give a fuck about you. They only care so long as you agree with them and they are so damn fat they are at risk of death, at 31 years old of a virus with a +98% survivability rate, and so unwilling to sort their diet out they want people fired from their jobs to minimise the risk to them.

And, as a bonus, this is the kind of person who an employer will move heaven and earth to have working for them. This is the kind of person some in the scientific community consider acceptable. They think this because too many of them believe the same thing. They want you destitute for daring to question them.

I recently had some weird throat cold, which I know wasn't COVID because I tested negative twice; but whatever it was left me with a sore on the left side of my throat that still acts up if I swallow liquids which are either too warm or too cold.
Its just weird thinking how other viral infections are going around and how many people are assuming their usual shit is COVID
Remember when saying "We have to learn to live with it?" counted as downplaying the virus, which by the way, how do you downplay it? The damn thing takes no prisoners; you either get fucked up by it or die.
Actually anywhere from 18-40% are asymptomatic (depending on the study/definition of asymptomatic); most have mild symptoms. Most of the permanent damage (save from post-viral fatigue I mean "long-haul COVID") is restricted to severe cases, which are the minority of cases - and according to some sources there is actually little evidence of a casual relationship between COVID and some of the "permanent damage" reported.

Not only does this thing take prisoners, it straight up lets entire masses go home without detention.
Which won't work since if ANYONE gets in they'll spread the super-duper 11/10 LETHAL new strain which will outcompete all the slightly less but still 10/10 lethal strains because it spreads faster. I'm glad to know the media and dumb government officials alike are choosing "SUPERSPREADING NEW DANGEROUS STRAIN" as their latest propaganda push.
Sure, this new strain isn't any more lethal than the others, but it spreads faster which means it will gain more exp. to level up faster to upgrade its lethality!

Something tells me that most COVID-skeptics would be just fine being last in line to be human lab rats

Are you serious? It's a minor viral illness if you're not ill, old or so fat you made yourself sick.

Sure some people claim they're I'll with teh loooonnnggg coof. BFD. Post viral syndrome is a thing and most people who dont have paid sick leave have to suck it the fuck up when they've been sick and get back to work.

I've no idea what your sources are but they're wildly inaccurate.

Glad im not the only one suspicious of this new strain popping up immediately after the vaccine hits. Sometimes it feels like we should start fed posting because of how awful things seem to be getting. months ago we could openly call this out now no one os mentioning that.
It is not new. Even the spastics like the one I linked in a previous post are admitting this. They're claiming it's been known of since September but only recently have they sussed out how it's different.

That said I'm unsure how they've done so the theres now increasing claims that there's not been any success so far in isolating the virus.

Looks like the wheels are are falling off the narrative, time to try scaring people with a noooo mootant straaaiinnn.

We're trapped here on this dust ball, in this rotted, gutted fucking waste of a country with these simpering, weak faggots and it's slowly driving me insane every day. I want it to end, I want this all to end, I don't care if it's by meteor, nuclear antihalation, or God Himself, just end it already. I can't exist in the Hell they're preparing for us.

And of course this is the heart of the matter: what people will do to avoid serious career consequences. I can't honestly say what choice I will make when this is inevitably imposed upon me. I talk tough here online, but I have an actual life with actual loved ones who depend on me being employed and not banished from society. Many others are in the same boat as I am in that they feel a visceral loathing at having any of this shit forced upon them, but are held hostage by the threat of ruination for not bending the knee to the Branch Covidian cult being dangled over their heads.

That link you posted showcases the attitude that many have where they will gleefully ruin other people's lives to soothe their own anxieties about this virus, or simply to signal that they are one of the Good People who don't Question The Science. What they're actually doing is seeking absolution through ritual intonement of the tenets of their faith. We've seen this behavior expressed in other ways in recent years: the shrieking accusations of one's enemies being racist/sexist/homophic/nazis, efforts to get people fired or physically hurt over online disputes (some of which are incomprehensibly petty), the nationwide BLM hysteria over the summer, and now widespread shaming over COVID-questioning. The fact is that we're living in the middle of a religious panic, with all the bad shit that entails. "Cancelation" is the modern day equivalent of branding someone as a heretic and the mania to cast out the demons in our midst in order to be saved grows more and more intense as this keeps ramping up.

I do wonder if the politicians and the donor class are fully aware of this madness gripping society and are cynically exploiting it to gain power and wealth, or if they also genuinely believe the things they say. The fact that many have gotten caught in recent weeks blowing off their own emergency orders suggests that they get that this is a sham, but I'm not 100% sure anymore.

For people so committed to their cult I would love to see them be tested on how willing they'd be to suffer or matyr themselves for their faith.

Dude. Not only do they know about it, its what they want.

I have to be vague for powerleveling reasons, but I've been privy to a fair bit of business being conducted by people who belong to that strata. Interestingly, the amount of wokespeak and buzzwords they use in common conversation and decisonmaking is incredible. Mind you, this is when there aren't any cameras on them, so there's no reason to keep up pretenses if they were lying. There seems to be at least some level of genuine belief at work.

If it came down to getting the vaccine, or get fired, I'd find an alternative route. I'll tell them me and my wife are trying to have a baby and that our doctor says not to get the vaccine, or walk into a sketchy urgent care and slip a crooked doctor $100 to write off that I got the vaccine.

Tell your doctor that you have had adverse reactions to vaccines in the past (flu shot is the best as it's given out like candy everywhere and there's a list of poor reactions both common and less so) and that you and your wife have a family history of autoimmune diseases.

Edit: also, if your health insurance asks if family planning is on the agenda for the following year, select "yes". The longer the trail you leave the better

If I have to get the vaccine, I'm going to take all the money and food I have. I'm going to drive to the middle of nowhere and watch the shit show from miles away.

They are 100% aware; and riding out every last bit of joy they can get at snubbing the people they were elected to steward. They're detached and inhuman sociopaths who are laughing at you every moment they get to impose, tease reopening, and reconsider it in literally the same breath. Power is sexually gratifying.

Lockdowns don’t work. It remains a mystery as to why the world entered one

Surjit S Bhalla writes: Lockdowns were an unnatural experiment and, around the world, they have not worked in achieving their major health objective of less infections or slower pace of infections.

Amitai Etizioni argues we need to reframe mask-wearing, by "viewing the wearing of masks as a patriotic act."

Take your fucking 'unity' and shove it up your ass. I want to breathe, I want to live, I am a fucking Human Being.

The politicians don't, I guarantee that. It's no different than how Republicans from like 1985 - 2015 or so were committed to saying the stupidest fundie Christian shit like the theory of evolution was created by Satan or George W. Bush is a god-fearing man anointed by Christ himself to save souls in America and the Middle East. They needed to look like paragons of fundamentalist Christianity to motivate their voters and donors, and one of their major groups of donors were megachurches. The megachurch preachers themselves who spread this message mostly don't believe this either since they're using religion for money and power. Small-time pastors definitely believe it. The megachurch attendees, some of whom are wealthy themselves and have high places in society, also of course believe it.

There's a mirror on the left now where politicians compete to say the stupidest shit to please their own religious base, which is a secular religion based in a mix of DA SCIENCE and ensuring the Whig history narrative of constant progress (we can define "progress" because DA SCIENCE tells us what progress is) is fulfilled. Instead of Satan we have historical demons like Columbus, Robert E. Lee, and Hitler and modern demons like Trump. If we destroy the power and influence of these demons, we'll right every single wrong in society. Politicians don't believe this shit although they might believe some elements of it, like I'd be shocked if even AOC believes half of that. The equivalent of the megachurches is DA EXPUHTS like influential college professors, journalists, or social media influencers and organizations like Black Lives Matter. They're after money and power and fame and say what they need to. Now your average Twitter user definitely believes this shit, as do some low level journalists and influencers.

What this means is that the left is now caught in the trap of having to appear holier than thou and make the most insane pronouncements on race and gender as possible. Like I don't believe for a minute your average Congressman (D) looked at that dumb bitch who accused Kavanaugh and thought "yes, she's telling the truth and is stunning and brave," especially since liars tend to recognize other liars. Or that these people give a shit about blacks when they pass laws like the "superpredator" bill, or that they care about gays when Obama opposed gay marriage in 2008. But that doesn't matter, they need to out-do each other on how feminist they are, how concerned about equity they are, etc.

Chinavirus is the latest sham the left latched onto. They get to feel morally superior about things as always so they damn well have to scream it to the winds and outdo each other. It's obvious they don't know shit about the virus or are worried about it (other than in a "demons are gonna get me" sense), otherwise they'd wear respirators and warn others how masks aren't very effective instead of taking faggy mask selfies. The influencers and other shysters are seeing an opportunity for more money and power. And the politicians as always aren't believing this shit since every week people catch them breaking their own rules. But they damn well love the power and love getting to outdo each other.

tl;dr It's a three-tier hierarchy

Politicians (don't believe)
|
Donors/Influencers (don't believe)

True believers (believe)

You writing it as "DA SCIENCE" makes me realize that lefty/globohomo/progressive "science" basically works the same way Ork technology from WH40K works.

"If the virus can reinfect you, then a vaccine wont work!"
"Nu-uh! Wez gunna make da vaxxine wid da power of DA SCIENZE! WAAAAAGGGHHH!!!"

"You cant walk-back millions of years of vertebrate evolution with social gender programing!"
"Yes we can! Wid da power of DA SCIENZE! WAAAAGGGGHHHH!!!"
