Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

That's nice.

So you don't have any conversation where Meyer said that EVS pushed him into suing Waid?
I'd recommend that rather than continuing this for several more pages you simply ask @FROG himself, as he's very active in this thread and generally very willing to explain himself.
You may have to wait a few days for an answer as I doubt he'll be browsing the farms on Christmas, but I think he's probably your best bet if you desire answers to these questions.

We've had this sperg come in here cluttering up the page for over a day. At what point does he get the LNC/Tyne boot?

Your assuming he cares about the answer.

No, I didn't push Zack into suing Waid. I remember Zack considering lawsuits, and then backing away from them, against various people on two or three different occasions before Waid shut down his deal with Antarctic. He had subscribers in his chat who claimed to be legal professionals, and they kept giving him advice about legal grounds on which he might sue.

And then I remember Zack making a video about Tortious Interference, and how that was enough of a reason to take Waid to court. He told me he was going to do it. I didn't believe him, because when you're being swarmed by SJWs, everyone gets litigious and then changes their mind. I've seen it happen dozens of times, and I've done it once or twice myself.

Anyhow, time goes by, and he's gotten a lawyer, and I'm pretty sure he's had Waid served. (My memory is fuzzy there, but I'm pretty sure Waid started his GoFundMe before Zack started his) I asked him how he was going to pay for it, and asked if he'd want a fundraiser. He said yes please. So I threw together a GoFundMe for Zack and promoted it.

My feelings about all of this haven't changed. I'm deeply disappointed that he didn't follow through with it. I feel like he had a responsibility towards the people he spoke to, and who funded him, to see this thing to trial.

But Zack has been backing away from all of this for his mental health. He's off Twitter. His videos are less angry, and more infrequent. I think the longer this went on, he just kept asking himself what the point of it all was, and if he really needed to spend another $120,000 to get $20,000 and a long overdue and insincere apology from Mark Waid Especially since the case was pretty terrifying to Waid, according to his friends. So maybe the message got thru.

From my perspective, this is a huge optics loss for the good guys, and there's no way around that except to just realize that times have changed, and this just doesn't mean what it meant in 2018. It's probably the grown up thing to walk away and move on, but damn, this would have been a clear moment of justice if Zack stuck with it.

In February of 2020, I might have thought the Meyer/Waid trial was vital to ComicsGate's importance. But I was wrong then, and the rest of 2020 and it's devastating effect on mainstream comics makes that even more clear.

We'll take the L here and keep moving forward.

So uh, where was that public discussion between @FROG and Meyer about EVS supposedly talking Meyer into the lawsuit. You said it happened a few pages back. Wondering where it is.
If I remember correctly ethan said so on a live stream when it started. Rekieta also encouraged it. Do I remember the stream no it was a bit a go and probably got deleted

It says a lot that a guy with multiple combat tours under fire gets finally broken by the comic book industry.

Raising another $120k from willing donors to continue the fight is a far better option than lighting the $150k already raised on fire and giving the middle finger to those same people. I hope he survives this.

Normal people don't seem to have a problem with me. Only conspiracy theory obsessed internet weridos ask such questions. Hope you caught my awesome stream last night with two brilliant, award-winning sci-fi authors and great Christian men last night. A lot to learn there. It's Christmas and it's time to dial down the ridiculousness.
Hey, it's JDA--Just Diddling Adolescents! So glad you came to join us, buddy!

Why do you care and why does it matter? Rather ethan said rcm do it rcm did it all by himself the law suit was rcm decision so move on. I can said because I was there ethan told his faithful that you where cg only if you donated because the lawsuit could change everything. So he was pushing . Can I ask how long have you been in? Where you there during it’s time?
As far as why don’t you save the conversation 1. Most of us like ethan at that time
2. Most where not paying that my attention outside of cg to post it.
3. Ethan deletes streams so even if I could go through hours and hours of live stream it’s probably gone.
You can either put people on ignore or say I believe what I want too.

Edit frog it was 2018 not 2020 when Law suit started

Merry Christmas ComicsGate!

A very nice review. Thank you @NasserRabadi13.

On my end I got a very pretty omnibus of @FROG's art. Should be some nice reading!

People who make "indie" comic books at this level (purely amateur) should not criticize how poorly the mainstream does it.
Yeah, themainstream is supposed to appeal to "everybody".
An indie crowdfund can make odd choices for the few who like it.

SG is bad at what it is trying to convey. Narwal's artwork is not bad at what it is trying to convey, but also definetely only a few people will like it. This is the main difference - we talk about the subjectivity of the art and the intricasies of selling it.
Yes, YBZ could do something more productive in 2020 than self-agrantizing big brain projects that look and feel worse than the comics he rips. At this point he is probably going for a Netflix deal.

There is no possible way that he gets a Netflix deal on anything he writes, he’s too controversial of a figure. No notable streaming service, let alone Netflix itself, would want to get anywhere even close to anything CG-adjacent at this point, those bridges have been burned.

He might, his books do include LGBT representation and his cast is diversified enough. That’s pretty much all you need to get a Netflix deal.

I know, I was sarcastic
