So I am looking for some COVID-19 "hate crime" data. My neighbor thinks it's mostly White people that are committing the acts but from all the reports that I read and the suspect arrested most seem to be Black.

Anyone got a source that has done an analysis of the hate crime victims and their perpetrators by race or would any such report be memory holed if it did not show the White man as the culprit.

Coronavirus pandemic in the US could be even worse in January, Fauci says​

Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, told CNN’s Jim Sciutto Tuesday that the US is in a coronavirus surge that has "just gotten...out of control in many respects."

He said the recent holiday travel period could make January even worse than December.

“Once you get to large numbers of people at a dinner inside, poor air ventilation and circulation, that's when you get in trouble,” he said. “That's what we're concerned about — that in addition to the surge, we're going to have an increase superimposed upon that surge which could make January even worse than December. I hope not. I hope that doesn't happen, but it certainly is possible."

Asked how much worse things could get, Fauci said that different models say different things, but “I think we just have to assume that it’s going to get worse.”

He said that he hopes things don’t get to the level of continually seeing over 200,000 new infections a day, because hospitalizations and deaths will then follow.

“It’s highly predictable that once you increase in those number of cases, in a staggered way, every couple of weeks, you get increases in the hospitalizations,” he said.

Looks like they're going to ratchet up the hysteria in January.

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer on Tuesday vetoed $225 million from a Legislature-approved supplemental COVID-19 spending bill that allocated $465 million in surplus funds to a variety of COVID-related expenses.

She also reversed a $100 million negative appropriation in Medicaid funding, bringing the total signed budget to $340 million.

Whitmer initially reported the spending bill as amounting to $106 million. It was not immediately clear why.

Included in the line-item vetoes are $5 million for a property tax deferral program and $220 million meant for the Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund, a pool of money that businesses use to help finance benefits for workers. Whitmer on Tuesday called it a "giveaway" that benefited employers, even after the state has directed some tax breaks toward businesses.

"We have helped, but this went too far," Whitmer said. "...The funding that I vetoed has nothing to do with extending benefits.”

Both Shirkey, R-Clarklake, and Speaker-elect Jason Wentworth, R-Farwell, criticized the governor's veto.

"Unemployment benefits cannot be extended without those funds," Shirkey said. "Those dollars would have extended unemployment benefits without placing additional costs on Michigan businesses already struggling to stay afloat under Gov. Whitmer’s closure polices.”

Wentworth called the veto an "incredible and shocking mistake."

"She either doesn’t understand the legislation in front of her or her actions today are just as cruel and tone deaf as so many others have been during this pandemic," Wentworth said.

Whitmer extended the restaurant restrictions through Jan. 15, but noted they could be lifted earlier if numbers continued to improve.

According to the local hospital my friend's husband died twice because of covid. She took him to the hospital a week before Christmas after he began sweating and dry heaving out of nowhere. He got a positive covid test, and he was back to 100% after 3 days. No permanent organ damage or anything else I keep seeing coof obsessed loons screech about. Friend works at the same hospital she took him to and has access to his info. His file has since been updated twice to say he's deceased due to covid. I'm not even surprised, I'm just tired. I'm so tired of the lunacy.

Recently an acquaintance of mine said two of his friends died this year because covid caused permanent lung damage. I've met both of the people he mentioned. One was 300lbs+ overweight, and the other smoked heavily for over 5 decades. Of course he didn't mention that one of them was crushing his lungs with fat, and that the other inhaled cigarette smoke since he was 12 years old. Anyway, he's now convinced that covid will lead to irreversible damage of the lungs, and it doesn't matter how old you how, how fat or skinny you are, or if you have a terrible lifestyle that leaves you with one foot in the grave. "You will get organ damage, it is fatal" he said. I guess he would be very disappointed to know that I had chinavirus a few months ago and my organs are fine. Also I didn't die.

One thing I don't think has been brought up as well is that this pandemic is coinciding with the baby boomers reaching the end of the average lifespan

My grandfather was 86 and died last year, I've noticed a lot of my grandparents are nearing the end of the road. The amount of pills is exponentially increasing, and at least two of them are in full blown dementia.

Now obviously older people on this forum have gone through this experience themselves. But now that the post war population boom that were the baby boomers are passing on the death rate is going to rise fast, and the millennials are getting their first taste of death
