I am displeased to introduce Craig Thompson, a gaming Youtuber who goes by the name "Mini Ladd."

Mr. Thompson is a Youtuber and livestreamer focusing primarily on gaming content. What has our boy done to deserve your attention?

Like so many Youtubers before him, Craig was unable to suppress his need to exchange explicit messages with underage fans. Shocking, I know.

Craig was mentioned earlier in the year, in this post. He was engaged in what seems to be some pretty mundane Youtube drama before this. Notably, The Sunday Times listed him as 3rd on a list of the 100 top UK influencers (after PewDiePie and KSI).

Earlier in 2020, allegations came out regarding "inappropriate" messages that Craig had been exchanging with two American fans (16 and 17 years old):

Archive of the First Allegation (16 years old) - The author indicates that his behavior regarding inappropriate contact with minors was a common theme with Craig. After mentioning that his penis was small, Craig defended his honor by sending this girl a photograph of his "bulge" - he's a true role model.

Archive of the Second Allegation (17 years old) - This girl began to follow him at 16, and began to converse with him. When she was 17, "the subject of virginity came up" and Craig asked her if she was a virgin. The girl admitted that she was, and they agreed that it would be appropriate for him to take her virginity. She claims that "things escalated from there" - the details are lost to Snapchat autodeletes and the foggy memory of an underage girl.

Craig faced some immediate backlash. Most notably, he lost a sponsorship arrangement with the City of Derry RFC (Rugby Club). (Archive) He also moved from LA back to the UK.

Others came forward, corroborating the claims and confirming that this was a trend. (Archive)

For a while, it seemed like things were tense for Craig and his fanbase, but not too much happened, considering what he did. This week, though, he posted an apology video:

Youtube Link - "My Apology "

This disturbing, dismissive apology video goes into detail regarding how he, an adult man, relied on underage girls for emotional support. His "suicide attempt" and depression are blamed. As we know, a desire to send lewd photographs to 16 year old girls is associated with depression. Craig repeatedly suggests that this is a valid defense, claiming "The reason I did this was because I did try to take my life at the start of 2017."

Now that he has made his statement, there is blood in the water, and articles are coming out about the "drama"

Considering the size of the Youtuber and the irrefutable nature of his misconduct, it is probably worth watching what happens in the coming days and weeks.

I watched his apology today and read the allegations, so I'm happy you made a thread about it.

Interesting points to make note of:
1. He confesses that everything said was true.
2. The video is titled "My Apology" but I don't think he ever apologized.
3. Blames EVERYTHING on him being depressed at the time and is very manipulative about it.
4. Allegations surfaced 6 months ago and he only now addressed them (probably because things got too hot?)
5. He outright mentions that he has a PR team that wrote the video script for him.
6. Hints that he broke with his PR team's advice to privately contact the two girls to apologize privately, which is a retarded thing to bring up in an apology.
7. His audience reaction (based on likes/dislikes) is 50% in favor of forgive and forget.

Basically he is a perfect archetype of a groomer YouTuber. Cherry picks young girls for Twitch mod positions, gets to know them, gets nudes from them.

Why do these faggots blame every horrible shit they do on "muh depression"
Nah fam, you dont get to flirt with minors just because you feel sad, you either become an alcoholic or kill yourself.
Because in many IRL scenarios that shit can work. It can function kind of like Kevin Spacey's Gay Reverse card if the acting is good enough and the audience is sympathetic enough. If 'muh depression' doesn't get the job done it can always be followed up with 'muh suicidal ideations', 'muh addiction' or 'muh childhood abuse'.

Here's a suggestion for everyone out there: If you become even moderately successful in making content for children - DO NOT INTERACT WITH THEM OUTSIDE OF A PUBLIC FORUM. Under no circumstances is it a good idea to talk to kids in a private manner. Just follow the Boy Scout's rules and always make sure there's two adults in any situation involving kids whatsoever. You don't even want the even hint of a supposed idea of an allegation that you are in anyway grooming children. I think western society will forgive a lot of things - even Bundy had women visiting him in prison; but sexual interactions with children is so repulsive to the paternal side of the human brain that anyone even accused of having sex with children will be permanently alienated from society.

"The prosecution would like to present exhibit A your honor. You will see that this full and complete confession by the defendant is more than enough evidence to demonstrate the knowing and willful grooming of a minor, along with sending sexually explicit images to a minor under the age of 16. The prosecution would further like to move that based on the defendant's complete lack of remorse, and high likelihood to offend again, that he be treated as a high risk sex offender and be officially registered as a danger to society, along with given the maximum prison sentence for crimes of this nature"
