There's something unique about suicide that makes people become exceedingly sanctimonious and forces them to virtue signal. I saw it first hand after my brother died and all of these people he went to school with who barely knew him went to Facebook and his visitation and tried to make it all about themselves. I thought it was just a result of high school kids being emotionally naïve high school kids, but then Twitter became a thing and it seems that grown adults engage in this exact same behavior.

This shit is exactly what I'm talking about:

Apollo has been funny to me for a long time. From the jump, he was transparently and unnecessarily inserting himself to drama and just wasn't any good at playing the youtuber drama metagame. He'd make a video about a subject, the subject would respond and BTFO him out of existence and then instead of shrugging his shoulders and moving onto the next drama target, he'd cry, delete videos and talk about how much he wanted to die. He's like one of those True Believers of GamerGate who didn't realize that 99% of the people involved were just doing it for entertainment or money. To him, this speedrunning shit really was/is life or death.

this is the part that's really aggravating. Darkviper has such a melodramatic personality he'll barrel through this pretty easily and if he doesn't, who gives a shit? but ezscape has gone out of his way to try to be an upstanding dude. a lot of people hide behind positivity and use it as a kind of buffer against drama, but ezscape always seemed genuine. It'd be one thing if EZ gave a damning tear down of apollo, but in his video the worst thing he said was along the lines of 'apollo can't let go of a grudge'. It's extremely tame and Apollo 100% knew the damage he was doing by putting his name in the note.
