There's more in it for TG because they're also countersuing over the sale of TG itself. Mitchell was major part owner of Twin Galaxies and a lot of the bullshit he and the other staff were pulling to build up the legend of Billy could be interpreted as them pumping up the value of the sale.
I believe they've done this before, then bought TG back after the business failed only to pump it up and sell it again, so it could all be part of a much bigger scam than just faked scores. It was also a condition of the most recent sale that the score database be factual, so Mitchell trying to scare people off his case might have been more than just ego.

Note that puts Twin Galaxies' new owners in a unique position that doesn't really do shit for guys like Apollo, but it sounds like they were looking out for him a bit so there may have been more going on behind the scenes with his Billy settlement.
I've been getting kind of a kayfabe vibe from some of the Billy/Youtuber drama for months now. It might have been just down to this speculative coordination with TG I guess, but this is also Billy we're talking about, literal cartoon supervillain Billy Mitchell. Until we get genuine confirmation I'mma hold out hope he's ringing in the new year by spitroasting a spicy catboy with Apollo dressed as his minion somewhere.

It's almost assuredly to save face in the community he's in. He doesn't want to be "that speedrunner that bullied some bald cancer kid into killing himself".

I'm inclined to think a mixture of the latter two. Dark's a pretty cool guy in my book. He can be very loud and obnoxious, but I like that he's unfiltered and sincere. When he gets mad about something, he's really mad about it. He speaks from the heart.

Never seen one of Apollo's videos or heard about his "drama" sucks he commited suicide over internet drama. Granted he was a speed runner and they are known for being lolcows. My condolences to his fans, freinds, and family.

The only reason I find him tolerable is that unlike most big personality driven youtubers he seems to have a normal life and doesn’t come off as particularly fake, other than that most of what he does makes him a cunt

The guy on the donkeykongforum who figured out Billy's videotaped gameplay was done on MAME was Jeremy Young (aka Xelnia)

Apollo Legend was one of the few id watch speedrun cheater videos from. I didn't get into the Billy Mitchell videos until alittle later, before Billy had ownership of them. Its a shame that 2020 literally screwed him over - especially over the Billy Mitchell drama.

I saw the drama from July unfold when DarkViperAU decided to call him out on their Twitter drama, and Apollo subs started to drop from 1 million.

Sad it had to end up this way, but the name drop before an-heroing is terrible. All you did is give them a reason to make this about themselves.

I saw his Billy Mitchel videos... half a year ago, I guess? IMO his trashing of Twin Galaxies was good.
But commenters on his "Stop Billy Mitchel" video warned him that he acts like a sped playing with fire.
