FYI, he was the very first to popularise the "block update detector" concept and used it in many farms. Now there's a block that detects block updates, named after his discovery.

Yeah, I agree with most of your points. Thanks for linking me shit I’ll read it later so I can properly absorb it. I’m not a math expert and I never will be but I’ve always been relatively good at it and I can see inconsistencies with the defence itself (though some did slip by me that was pointed out on the Reddit post.)

While his actions are pants on head, the overall strategy of refusing to admit cheating is sound at least from a certain perspective. Right now, without definitive proof, there's no way they ban him from the leaderboards, but he will most likely have extra scrutiny placed on future submissions. As long as he keeps adamantly denying it, the run in question will remain wiped from the boards due to being unverifiable, but he would remain able to submit future attempts.
To put into perspective of just how rng dependent this record is, even when he cheated to increase his odds in the two most major rng dependent aspects of the run, in over 24 hours of streams with increased odds, he only had a single world record pace run, which still got rng screwed by something else.

He is currently banned from the Bedrock Minecraft Edition as they have a different policy then the Java Minecraft Edition. Java doesn't ban cheaters, they will just remove the runs and place harder barriers on new runs. For future runs, the following statement was made:
"We would like to reiterate that, as stated in the Minecraft Speedrun Evidence Standards (http://bombch.us/DOkA), rather than disallowing former cheaters from submitting future runs, we place the burden of exhaustive proof on them in order to accept it."

They have definitive proof, its the 1 in 7.5 trillion chance of his run being legit. If Java had the policy to permaban cheaters, Dream would be permabanned. Also the RNG that he lost too was seed dependent a legit form of RNG, not something that is meant to be subtle like drop rate manipulation. Seed generation manipulation a different way of being checked (and apparently is quite easy to catch people using custom/preloaded seeds).

All the kids in this video are late teens/young adults now basically we are fucked. Furthermore the shop I work at for the past 6+ years I constantly get parents who have no clue about computers coming in and buying systems in which they specifically ask if it can run Minecraft/Roblox, Fortnite, League of Legends and Counter-strike: Global Offensive. This isn't gonna get better only worse as time goes on.
