Nancy is still speaker/remains speaker because of a couple of events that happened dating back to 2006.
The progressives at the time wanted one of their own as Speaker over Nancy, which led to her making a deal to groom then new HOR member Anthony Weiner as her #2 and heir apparent. That backfired as Weiner tuned out to be a pervert and pedo and that got her so pissed off that she started grooming a centrist instead and made it clear that she would retire when she's god-damn ready to retire and that her bland safe centrist replacement would take over, presumably by the end of the 2010s This backfired again, as the Justice Democrats were pissy that Nancy wasn't moving to instantly impeach Trump so they found AOC and had her primary Nancy's heir out of his seat to spite and punish her.
That fucked shit up for the House Democrats in general and now they were stuck with Nancy for the duration, until she decides to quit. As for AOC; she hates her guts but tolerates her in so far as deciding that if she's stuck with her that she'll force her to learn the fine art of retard herding as far as her being Nancy's go between with the Squad and the rest of the mentally ill lunatic lefties. With AOC allowed leyway to trash talk Nancy but being made aware that Nancy expects her and the Squad to vote lockstep with whatever Nancy demands that they vote for.
More like, "We'll get Biden sworn in, then have him confess to election fraud, corruption along with his son Hunter, and so forth and resign "for the good of the country" days after being sworn in and he's executive actioned a TON of beyond the pale shit that will piss off a huge portion of the public.
Harris then takes over, but immediately PARDONS Joe and Hunter for all of their sins (meaning they can never go to jail or be held legally accountable for their sins), in the name of "sparing the country trials and more anguish and division" (but in truth, as a "fuck you" to the GOP and the American public) while the media proclaims Harris the second coming of Obama as Jesus and bonus, having Biden take the fall for all of the really evil shit the DNC wants to do while allowing Harris to claim innocence towards those things and potentially do more executive orders to reverse Biden's shit as damage control if necessary.
