No word if PK watches Uncle Grandpa or Gumball, but you'll totally know when one of the newly introduced Flora character reminds you of Pizza Steve. I can't think of a Flora character that's like Pearl from SU, except maybe Orobas somewhat? PK actually made PMD-E characters for her cats when it was going on.

Anyway, Part 6 of Self-Insert Adventure Broken Toy will be posted on Monday.
Place your bets on what it'll be about:
1) Actual substantial plot/character advancement, even if it's just for Beleth
2) More arguing about petty shit between the characters
3) Oddly enough, none of the above

Furfur/Angel extracted her weapon from her forehead just like Pearl does with her sword. Couple that with the fact that that chapter is where all the pink/pastel blue/purple colour schemes begin, and you get a pretty clear idea what went through PK's head. She may not even have done it on purpose, but to me it definitely seems like SU influenced a lot of that chapter. I am 80% willing to bet that the weapon coming out of her head was an afterthought influenced by Pearl.

Beepbeep! It's Monday! Which means an update!

Part 6 of Broken Toy

Looks like choice #1 won...but in the end, we're all losers. So from their adventures in Itchy Itchy, Beleth ended up with AIDS some disease that can effect magical non-organic puppets as well. They go to the movies with Biff for some reason and then their disease gets worse and Andre has to "kill" them via the "kill it with fire" method and I guess this is how Beleth gets their new magenta nerd bowl-cut-hair body.

I mostly skimmed the middle, but that's the gist of it.

Too easy.

what is with the awful excuses for "music" PK uses? it sounds like a cat laying all over a keyboard with sampled sfx sprinkled throughout.
PK had mentioned one of her music inspirations was the Silent Hill OSTs, and also her ex-bf PengoSolvent, who has a very similar sound to her current music.

I honestly don't care for it but sometimes it's even painful to listen to. There's no way to mute the music on the flashes, just like PK intended.

Huh, it's this thread again. I was meaning to post a few months back when I first saw it, but chose against it because I'd just be bumping it without contributing anything substantial. I'm not sure if this would qualify as powerlevelling, but here it is in case anyone would be interested.

A couple of years ago, I remember someone bringing this person up, that she was recruiting musicians. I used to be rather into fanmade works and projects, so I unwittingly signed up for it. It was a weird experience; I was made to work on a theme for into one of her Pokemon fancharacters, and around halfway into writing it she introduced me to a friend of hers who basically told me to continue it in a certain way. By then I stopped caring, so I just slapped some chords around and shoved it to them, calling it complete. Since then I've never seen it in use - I don't think anything really came out of whatever it was she needed music for. It's been a while since I last checked, but I remember discovering that she'd do it frequently, and for no apparent reason.

So she does music herself now? That's got to be a mild improvement over constantly asking people to waste time for her at least. I'll bite - where can I hear her music?
Oh, and a friend of mine actually likes the original comic thing she seems to be doing now. I've personally never read it, though.

(I'm sorry if this is phrased horribly or something. It's really nothing too big, and I don't know very much about this person at all - if anything I'm curious to see what you guys have to say.)

Her bandcamp is right here: http://floraverse.bandcamp.com/

Read through this very thread for kewl deets on PK. And so we don't keep repeating ourselves. Buuuuut, basically she's a very acerbic furry artist who drank the Tumblr kool-aid and now shoves SJW shit everywhere she touches. If someone dares to not share her opinion, she'll sic her attack dog bf, Eevee, after them. She's a source of tons of drama as well.

I couldn't even watch those flash VN things because the music annoyed the shit out of me. It's like she's going for a Nintendoish "quirky animal noises that sound like singing" vibe but fails horribly at it to the point where it's just random annoying noises.

Ok so I skimmed through that video (too long to keep my attention throughout the whole thing) and I can see that again we're meant to sympathize with Beleth but really, they are a dumbass. I guess ironically this teaches that you should be honest about your biology when you speak to a doctor! Too bad PK probably doesn't agree with this when it comes to a certain aspect of your biology (hint: it has to do with sex and gender).

Anyway the camera loves Beleth so much that even when Biff does the talking it remains pointed on Beleth. Shame because Biff is a character I find way more tolerable. The music is so bad it's irritating, as usual, but the positive thing about having Andre in an update is that we get to hear his theme song instead of other shitty noise, and imo his theme is the least bad PK has produced (until you get to the random voice samples, then it becomes stupid).
Also love the inconsistency on Median. Her head, fangs and proportions don't look like they used to in Itchy Itchy. See, thanks to inconsistencies you can tell exactly which characters were designed on the spot when the plot needed them, and which characters actually had time and effort put into their design.

I actually like her songs but that's just me liking pretty much anything. I'd ask her what program she uses but we all know that won't get anywhere and she'll probably just bark nonsense at me. :(

I'm pretty sure she uses FL Studio, or at least she has in the past. I think that's also the one Pengosolvent uses so you can ask him for confirmation if you feel he'd be more approachable.

You were right, thanks a lot.

I remember going to some pony convention in the Midwest once two years ago (dark times man, dark times) and PK had a booth in the artists alley there. There were prints and buttons, your standard con stuff, and I wanted some buttons for the hell of it. So I asked for the price of the stuff I wanted to the two girls at the booth. They were overall pretty mean for someone who was talking to a customer, and told me that I couldn't buy anything until the person who made the stuff came back (which would have been PK, of course) because apparently she was the only one allowed to handle money or something. I dicked around in the artists alley for about two hours and she still wasn't back, and the girls there were bitchy as ever when I asked when she would be back. I eventually gave up, but I'm glad I didn't see her in the flesh after reading this thread.
Nasty.

Was anyone here around during the time PK owned an oekaki? I think it was 'papaya kitty' oekaki or something. a friend used to frequent it, i remember being too intimidated, because there was some 'rule' in set that you had to be 'good enough' to draw on PK's 'expert' board, otherwise you were stuck on the 'beginner' board with all of the people apparently not good enough in PK and crew's eyes.

Yeah, I remember that oekaki. It started off as only one board where PK and her friends hung out. When more people started coming in (mostly beginning artists), it had the split. I think it was going off what other oekakis where doing with advanced/beginner boards.

Oh wow. And PK gave Pengo shit on how he was acting at the sales table.

Oh, that was a super common thing back in the age of oekakis. Most oekakis would have separate boards divided by skill level and snooty application procedures for people who wanted to draw with the cool kids on the cool kids board.

Though this does remind me of a story I don't think I've told here, of probably the closest encounter I've ever had with PK: One time years ago PK joined the TCoD (The Cave of Dragonflies, a Pokemon site) forums because some furry who was a member of the board stiffed her on a $35 commission and was giving her the runaround. A lot of people who were friends with PK were on the forum at the time (including Eevee, who was actually an admin iirc) and a good portion of the users eventually got in on teasing the dude by putting kecleons and huge "$35"s in their signatures. Eventually PK herself signed up, I guess as a last ditch effort at getting in touch with the guy. After the issue subsided she stuck around for a little bit. I remember her generally being kind of standoffish and unpleasant, though at the time I figured she was just sour about the commission thing. At one point she completely reamed another member's art because it was "too kawaii" and "she's sick of badly drawn shit with anime eyes getting so much love" (which is pretty hilarious in retrospect). Said member's art wasn't great but damn dude. I remember this every time PK gets on her "I like to encourage new artists to draw uwu!" soapbox.

Holy shit, how the fuck does she expect to make money if that's how she runs her art table?

I have no idea. I also remember her saying that she was streaming her usual SFW pokemon stuff (on her main deviantart) but when I loaded up the stream she was drawing porn.
I'm still scarred to this day :(

If I hadn't been desensitized to bizarre fetish cartoon furry porn a long time ago, I might empathize. Alas, my innocence died long ago.

But yeah, as somebody who only got into running artist tables at cons like three years ago, I would never have even considered making a single person handle all the money because that would be a horrible business decision and would lose us customers. There has to be somebody at the table at all times that can take money for sales, and there's a ledger where we keep track of each item sold, for how much, which artist made it and who sold it. It took some trial and error to get the current system we have now organized how it is, but even then, somebody being rude to the customers would never fly.

Shit, this is really basic stuff.
