When BLM rioted, "Blue Lives Matter" was all the rage with conservatives. Now they are establishment-controlled thugs and npc goons.

Tame on the low-level, yeah. As yet (remember - we still have tonight and tomorrow) very minimal property damage and loss of life. Pipebombs in the RNC got remotely detonated.

However, symbolically, this is a much, much bigger deal. For people who say "fuck the rest of the world" they might not realize it, but @HumanHive is absolutely correct that this is a massive embarrassment for our government's image in the broader world.

Given our soft and to a lesser extent sharp power is what allows us to enjoy a relatively high standard of living and great leverage in economic trade deals above just what our markets guarantee us (ie, we offer our general stability as a country in terms of our currency and the ability for foreign capital to be safely invested, so on), this is way worse than a small town getting torched or Portland bloodletting itself.
I wholeheartedly agree. Symbolically, having an angry mob storm the Capitol is... not just unprecedented, it's really bad on a fundamental political level. Again: Much less damage and human suffering than what BLM did the past few years, no argument there, but that doesn't make this harmless just on merit of being less violent. It's a direct attack against democracy, a big chunk (not a majority though) of the population exclaiming that they are completely disenfranchised with their goverment - I would say unjustifiedly so, but that's besides the point. The issue remains.

BLM riots are worse when we compare them now... wonder how that'll balance out 4 years from now.

And while I don't think this makes the USA look weak, it certainly makes their politics look bad and bodes badly for the future.

Yawn. Tell me when it gets to this level:
It's amazing what 70 years of government soy school diets did to the gene pool, before peasants with nothing could rebel, now plebs with guns cant even.

Artist I follow on twitter are moaning and groaning again if you like donnie and or support him they want you to un follow right now. Christ, I'm really starting to like abandoning social media now so I never see people complain again.
It's embarassing to see pro artists you look up to spout, "OMG IF YOU LIKE TRUMP THEN UR BAD! >:( U TERRORIST". I thought I was following grown adults but I guess the concept of an adult is gone as far as I can see after today.

Nobody is going to take seriously a bunch of Phil looking losers larping as revolutionary Marxists. Nobody. No matter how much damage to peppery they cause.

And blacks roiting in the streets because qualified immunity means jack shit is going to change in American policing practices is a spontaneous, but generally unproductive outpouring of despair at a their collective lot in life, a lot which hasn't substantially changed since Nixon.

But these cape wearing qanon Groypers managed to bust into the capitol building of the fucking US while congress was actively in session, interrupting the lawful transition of one regime to the next. All because they were told their dear leader had the election stolen from him, despite multiple circuits of state and federal court giving them the chance to prove it to ANY degree.

How anyone can look at Antifa larpers/BLM protests-turned-destruction-of-property and think they are in any way on the same level as this shit show is beyond me.

I can't wait for the "the lost for to do it, why are they mad we did?" salt to flow when heads roll for this quasi-treasonist happy fun time rally.
