If I was a foreign power who didn't like America--Yeah, long list-- I'd be paying very close attention to how easy it was to storm the Capitol building and how little resistance the security put up from the effort. If there had been even a single, serious cell of people coordinating inside of these groups instead of just a collection of random idiots doing it for a LARP, we would have been in some significant fucking trouble.

It's frankly a little alarming how easy it was for such a relatively small group of people to storm and occupy the building, even after security had so much time to prepare for the crowd that was outside.

It is not as surprising as you think; Trump's de facto Presidency ended today.

The breaking point was when he held back the national guard; After a certain point Pence said fuck it and took control (I think that move was unconstitutional but who gives a fuck at this point) and the generals with him agreed. At that point it was over for Trump, the DC politicans want his head for the stunt he pulled today and the military is ignoring him in favor of Pence.

Yeah, there's a bunch of unruly rioters and the political leader over the area tells law enforcement to stand down. Crazy. Never seen that done before. If it had been, those politicians would definitely be in prison.
