Good post. It's terribly sad from a history appreciator's standpoint that we're still stuck in the modern equivalent of trying to discuss Napoleon right after the Napoleonic Wars.
There's a ton of relevant nuance on the issue of 1930s-40s Germany that will be lost forever because of the autism of political spergs and powerful interests

I have been to the Capitol in order to get my Library of Congress Reader ID Card so I could research my Colonial American ancestors. Can't imagine trying to brute force my way inside for any reason. That being said, Paranoia Machine should neck itself for being so heartless. All in all, the victim should have had more common sense as she was trained Military and not some bagger from a Piggly Wiggly.

All the most brutal, genocidal regimes in history were absolutely terrified of their own people, to the point where the reason you could be shot just for sharing an opinion is because the government believed that you had the power to destroy everything with just a few words.
