I am somewhat worried about the few remaining " reasonable" Republicans getting primaried in 2022, but hopefully normies will counteract that in some capacity, whether by voting for more rational candidates in primaries or voting Dem/ not voting in general elections

I doubt he actually said that there'd be a peaceful transition. I assume he's had a complete mental break and someone wrote it for him.

But demoralizing these people is probably a good thing... though, then again, it could turn some of them into the McVeighs of tomorrow.

Conservatives who are sanguine seem to insist that "after so long of not doing anything and getting pushed around, the right has realized how weak and fragile their opponents really are" and this will be big for them.

Of course, that's a little odd, because shouldn't 9/11 have shown that you can do a fuckton of damage to a government and they'll fuck up and drop the ball? Shouldn't the Berlin Christmas market? Or suicide bombing? Or any school shooting? Society is always fragile and vulnerable to people whose only real goal is just to cause chaos and strife and suffering without any real regard for their own safety and well-being.

Seems like there's just a little wiring difference. A well-adjusted human goes "why the fuck would I want to make my country undergo another 9/11? That's fucking psychopathy."
A PROUD PATRIOT apparently goes, "It's okay if we go through another 9/11, because I cannot cope with having actually been wrong all this time."
