I feel like a big part of this pearl clutching is a distraction from the fact that either the Capitol police intentionally let these people in or they’re so incompetent that Baked Alaska and his merry band of retards were able to breach the Capitol during what is arguably one of the most important constitutional duties of Congress.

Like who really benefits from this? If the pro-Trump senators had a chance to dispute the election and talk to the people it might’ve convinced some people to clamor for reform. I find it hard to believe the Capitol police wouldnt see this coming and plan for it.

The crackdown is going to be severe. This is the first time in modern US history that members of Congress could legit fear the Capital Rotunda being broken into and them being dragged outside to the waiting gallows the protestors had set up. They are going to retaliate.

Some might hold the opinion that not giving Congress the hemp hoedown was the greatest failure of the day. They might quote that old saw about half measures as part of the bargain. Some might hold the opinion that such an thing is assured to happen eventually if events proceed along their current course.

I personally condemn all violence and would never support such a thing, naturally. Only by voting peacefully can we enact change.

Maybe communism and leftism actually don't exist anymore. It's just globalism and neo-liberal boring talking points with shitty faux-progressive words. "Hey youth, we are sooo down with the trannies. Please buy Coca-cola and support your black president bombing the shit out of some kids in some country you never heard of."
You should read "Capitalism, Socialism and Democracy" by Joseph Schumpeter. He basically predicted this sort of shit would happen. Essentially, his premise is that capitalism is good but its ability to create things out of the destruction of other things, something he termed "creative destruction" (e.g. the ability to create a market for things like matchmaking out of the destruction of local people that would do the matchmaking for you, the ability to create a market for digital entertainment by destroying the need or wish of people to read classical literature, etc.), would be the end of it because it would destroy things that capitalism needs to sustain itself, namely community cohesion, societal continuity in written form or in oral tradition, religion and the family. Then it would evolve into a form of socialism and eventually kill itself slowly over time. That's basically what's happening now in essence: we stopped being a true capitalistic economy years ago. What everyone wants is corporatism, and even so called socialists and leftists want that as well. Personally, I think that's the death knell of the world and probably will usher in a century or two of technological collapse and the loss of all progress society has made, but at the same time, it gives me hope that my and maybe your descendants will learn from our parents' and our parents' parents' mistake in rejecting basic tenets of sound wisdom fundamental to the upkeep of civilization. Until then, I'm just laughing until society actually collapses and focusing on the people near me and making sure they're alright.

The best part is that the horse has bolted the barn. I see no way forward in which the pissed off masses can be placated other than... well... the obvious. Every other option will only serve to further entrench and enrage them.

The problem with that line of thinking is that it's looking like the feeling is finally mutual. Anybody saying such shit is naive at best.
You know how the English got so sick of Catholics existing after Bloody Mary and James I's bullshit that they banned them from all positions of power and then enserfed the Irish? I think Confed's friend is talking about the "comeuppance" the Q-tards are getting, not delivering.

Could just be that they weren't expecting anything because the right are very law abiding (and always lose because of that).

Could have also wanted to let it happen because they knew it would look bad. The miscalculation there is that it's not possible for the establishment to have any lower opinion of us. Any rebellion is just inspiring to look at from our perspective.

Looks like Trump isn’t getting impeached, they’re just hibernating until Biden is in. :story:

They just want to sweep this under the rug as fast as possible. They’ll make examples of the craziest rioters but I just don’t see any crackdown coming. There will be more censorship but that’s the default and honestly is barely a threat so much as an inevitability.

I’m sure Joe is ready to address unrest from both the Right and the Left, through statesmanship and compromise.

all the bluecheckmarks forget that you need to infiltrate the systems of power

if you make the police the enemy of your movement, and make death threats against them, you can't expect wholesome 100 selfies with them as you storm the most powerful '''democratic''' body on earth

thank god trump was playing 5d chess and baked alaska had his law enforcement rap blastin

Sometimes I fear living in a dystopian hell scape where faceless tech companies track me all over the internet to use anything they can find against me while the government tracks my every move, police have 0 accountability for their actions even when they fuck up, laws are enforced at random, my employer can pry into my personal life to the point of me being liable for the action of people I associated with once, I am forced to explicitly say I endorse ideas and beliefs I don't endorse at risk of being targeted, and all my rights have been stripped away to protect me from terrorists those terrorists of course being what ever a faceless group of unknowns designate at the time and at one point would of been applied to the founding fathers of my country and the only thing keeping people from noticing or doing anything is doctors over prescribing anxiety medicine to pacify the masses.

Then I take my doctor approved Xanax perscription, watch Netflix while I wait for my social media ban to expire because I talked about Big tech companies workers unionizing and they found a pic/account I posted something on when I was 15 that broke the updated TOS, and stay in my home for lockdown and realize there is no way something so absurd could be possible and I need to relax.

The system will have to break down much further before anyone who doesn't wear a remote controlled buttplug (made in China, remote control lodged in Israel) is ever allowed to be elected. But there will be no more elections, so that avenue is probably moot. They can now game any election to get the outcome they want, no real candidates will ever be allowed again. It isn't happening.

The right does have a plan for resistance and survival. Why do you think they live outside of cities, hone practical skills and have been stockpiling goods for the last 100 years? Because it's fun?

Well it is fun. But that's not the point, just a bonus.
That's not a plan, that's a joke.

If the right wants to retaliate we could cripple our ideological enemies pretty easily, with the power of the checkbook, which is the real power we have left.

- cancel cable and all consoom services like Netflix
- try and cut out made in China as much as humanly possible
- pirate everything, no more movies or itunes
-cut out twitter, facebook, reddit and youtube
- support alt tech with $$$
- move money into crypto

on the cultural front:

- homeschool if you have kids
- show up to local meetings and make your wishes known in calm, non lolcow ways
- donate money to any church/insititution you trust and volunteer hours

that's just for starters.

if you could get even 20 million people to follow up on these things you could start turning the tide.
