The media, being an important facet of the greater problem, has absolutely no incentive to "understand" anything at all about why people are upset. Their job is to saturate people's headspace with propaganda to ensure that nobody is able to organize effectively for their own interests, everyone is at each other's throats for trivial reasons (like brand loyalty), and that people keep spending money the way the masters want them to. The people getting upset are undesirables and the goal is to provoke them into doing things that will justify removing them from society.

I suspect the plan was to concede after the objections failed during the electoral vote, as it signaled the end of the legal road. The break-in was not part of that plan.
