So what you're saying is our economic system is based around an unwarranted belief in funny money and that we're headed for a massive economic collapse soon because people keep printing trillions of dollars out despite knowing such behavior causes massive inflation?
Economic collapses happened under precious metal standards too. They also brought something worse than inflation. Deflation.

Monetary policy is more important than what your currency is based on. No reform is going to work if the people running the show don't know what the fuck they are doing.

Psycho bitch who got where she by wearing out her knee pads is acting once more like a psycho bitch and dusting off the pads for big tech.
Wasn't she the same bitch who was all for breaking up Google and working to stop social media censorship at one point.

Arbitrary values for random shit. Isn't that how the white man first began to ""steal"" the United States from the feathers not dots gangs?

I know this is a joke, and this thread is moving a million posts a minutes, but I'll shit on it with a serious answer by pissing into the wind quickly.

Glass beads are hard to make if you don't have access to industrial furnaces, so glass was rare and expensive for a long time even in Europe. (Someone will shill about "Muh Egypt Mummy Beads" but those are vitrified clay and not true glass.) Crafted glass objects even more so because you need to not only build furnaces, fuel them, and then work with "literally burn your flesh off" substances, but then you must cool it slowly or it will crack and shatter from thermal shock.

Natives had natural glass beads for a while, and they worked as currency because they were non-replicable tokens to represent value transfer. When the French and English showed up (and the spanish, to a degree) they brought large quantities of this previously rare substance. Basically the Euros were able to buy things worth more than the glass was too them.

Adding this was property rights were communal and not individual. That is, the Tribe/Clan owned land, but not the individuals. What amounts to land leases existed between the eastern tribes; members of different tribes would negotiate access to land that wasn't owned by their tribe. They did not understand/grasp English Common Law monolithic property rights*. So they thought they were taking these dumb whites for a ride by trading the rights to also be allowed to farm/hunt/trap in their forests for a bunch of very rare glass, only to discover they'd signed away exclusive rights to their land for an increasingly devalued commodity the whites had ready access to.

You also had cases where some white guy would buy his way into the tribe, and then exercise exclusive rights over what was understood by the natives to be communal land - but he got a deed filed for his, so the injuns were shit out of luck.

*At the risk of my niggerdeath streetcred: when I say didn't understand, I don't mean they were stupid. I mean that they had no framework or previous examples of Common-Law style "all or nothing" land rights, especially being held by a solitary individual. It would be like agreeing to give someone a ride in exchange for some gas money, and then discovering that doing so gave them ownership of your car.

because I happen to like porn and kiwifarms. this is a very flaccid attempt at a "gotcha."
One day they'll figure out that internet salt is a strong aphrodisiac and their gotchas will be full mast

We're also in an extremely unusual era of fiscal policy. We've had near-zero interest rates for a long long time, and very low ones before that, and inflation has consistently failed to meet the 2% standard that most central banks want it to in order to reimpose higher interest rates. Concerns about gradual inflation seem odd, with price inflation utterly flat in certain industries while spiking ridiculously in others.

You don't need any of that.

actually, the majority of my caloric intake needs to come from the milk this website supplies or I'll waste away.

in all seriousness, there's a difference between the most powerful man in the country losing his shitposting vehicle and the entire internet being in effective lockdown. I know you're purposefully being this obtuse, but pretending to be retarded is still pretty retarded.

Wise idea to deplatform the last bastions of speech that these people had, certainly this won't escalate into further violence or wind up this being turned into the new counter culture movement since all the big boys are against them.

I mean do they really want the right wing version of hippies? Because this is how you get the right wing version of hippies.
