I prefer to think of the Tranch as a modern day leper colony. I dream of the day when all troons are banished there or places like it.
The only reason I would ever want to visit the Tranch is to save the animals. I dngaf what happens to the troons and I'd prefer -- and not even for covid reasons -- to stay very far away because who knows what kind of novel pathogens are being incubated in AmHole. They shouldn't flatter themselves that anyone actually wants to be around them for any reason. Nobody does.

Yeah. We'd have doxed the ranch if we'd looked at the metadata of a picture Kevin took and used that to work out his address. Posting details that are publically accessible and which people willingly put out there is not doxing.

Even before I came to KF and learnt about cybersecurity by watching cows fail hilariously about it, I knew not to:
• post my location beyond what city I lived in
• use the same username or profile picture on several accounts unless I was happy with people knowing about those accounts
• post any pictures that could be traced back to me.
Why this isn't common knowledge is beyond me.

It's because nobody beats "lurk moar" into newcomers online anymore, because there's too many of them constantly flooding in thanks to smartphones and other lowered barriers to access the internet; and social media conditions people into enmeshing their personal lives and online ones so the vast majority of them can't even fathom the concept of keeping them separated. The line between IRL and OL has basically been obliterated by a fistful of blue hellsites.
Also, yeah, no one is going to travel out to the tranch to cause them harm. If they were killed or injured, what would we laugh at then?
