Again, everyone that goes "WONT SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN?!?!" are the same people that look at this and say that its a "small price for salvation".

I remember how when there was that earthwake in Japan and the nuclear facilities were at risk of going actually nuclear. What happened? A bunch of older folks volunteered to take the possible one way ticket to the facility. Their reasoning being that they have lived time enough while the future of the youth is in danger so it was a worthy cause for them.
Aaaaand now here we are, actively hurting and boycotting the future of our youth just to save the older folks who are in their last years of life anyway. Where did we go so damn wrong?!

2019 looks like a paradise compared to last year or now. And with how things are shaping up for this year, 2020 will be a paradise compared to 2021. I mean at least I got in almost 3 months before the mass panic set in and we weren't seeing a massive ideological purge in Our Democracy.

There's hardly any difference between a "confinement" and that 6PM curfew. Our restaurants, cafés, cinemas, gyms, museums etc. have all been closed since early October with no reopening in sight.
That 6PM curfew has been implemented to stop people from gathering at homes after work / school and before the 8PM curfew - we were doing it with my friends for one. So no more "after work" drinks and "galette des rois" (French traditional January pies) anymore.
Outside of that, it will be very annoying for working professionals or students to get their groceries done during the week since shops will most likely close around 5:30PM. It will also hit shops hard since a lot of their clientele, both in retail and food, came by in the late afternoon / early evening (Parisian streets were pretty packed these past few weeks around 5-6PM).
All in all, it's a dumb measure that's going to be another big blow for local shops (those that have survived thus far anyways) and for the economy in general. We have had a lockdown in November, and that shit has barely reduced the amount of cases, so I sincerely doubt that this new curfew will.

Went to a lovely little fish-and-chips shop today. Wasn't busy, Had a great lunch followed by a trip to the indoor gardens to warm up. The lockdowns are not in effect here the cornfield. There is a blizzard going on though across the state going to be a relaxing weekend. Stay safe Kiwis

Oh hey it is January. About eleven months ago the media started to notice WuFlu, albeit a bit late.
Since I am generous, I will reset my annual death counter at the start of February rather than last November. But only because I'm a nice guy.
So remember: deaths snap back to zero on February first and we start counting again to better keep things in perspective. Otherwise there could be a panic due to misinformation and disingenuous numbers.
