Probably a bit of a stretch but Gura strikes me as someone with imposter syndrome. I know, I know, she had 1 million subs prior to Gura. But from the beginning, she's never really drawn attention to it, even before she hit 1 million. And depending on how much she looks up to the other members, like Fubuki, I can definitely see her feeling guilty of blowing all of them out of the water. Even though I'm sure Fubuki for that matter couldn't care less about comparing analytics.

I've wondered about that too, especially with her habit of ghosting her old youtube channels about the time they become relatively popular.

I don't think she's ever had a sub milestone celebration or endurance stream right? One of the few times I can find of her mentioning subs is her wanting to buy an Ikea Shark for every milestone.

Yeah I think a combination of her thinking only a small part of her Senzawa audience would follow her over, her maybe feeling guilty about snatching the prize away from Fubuki at the last second, and that the people calling the shots in Cover drastically underestimated how popular an English branch of hololive would be might have resulted in her wanting to ignore that she's the most popular

No, although the author was a former soldier and is clearly heavily biased towards the JSDF it isn't meant to recruit anyone.
