Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

I'm in Utah snowboarding and the only places where I've been abiding mask mandates is at the ski resorts, and even then I'm doing the bare minimum (ski gaiters instead of masks) as I don't want to get my IKON pass revoked. I feel really bad for the resort employees who are assigned to play mask monitor in chairlift lines.

I've been doing all of the things that I can't do in California like going to the bar and movies (I got to see Alien ever for the first time by myself in an empty theater) and eating inside. All of this stuff makes me want to relocate here from California. So far I've only ran into problems at Walmart when a greeter got mad I didn't have one on which I promptly ignored.

Also I can honestly admit this pandemic trip seriously has destressed me tremendously. I hope those cat shit parasite inhaling shut in bugmen change their tune on this scamdemic sooner than later for their own sake.

I hope this "everything keeps getting worse" trend can even end. Mega Clown World 2020 has really drained my sense of optimism - and faith in humanity.

And I suppose that's just what the scumbags behind this hell want: people to be drained of optimism and hope.

I'm beginning to wonder if the mask mandates are a bigger issue than just inconvenience. They slightly raise the CO2 levels of the air you breathe, apparently. And raised CO2 levels apparently trigger some primal reactions of fear of asphyxiation. Combined with them being a constant reminder that there's some invisible killer out there, this sounds like a nice recipe for instilling a seriously unhealthy baseline level of fear in people. Maybe that's why even normies are more and more acting like troons and commies who are in a constant state of panic to begin with. A year of terror propaganda mixed with a reminder of said terror propaganda plus a very real physiologically induced low level fear? No wonder people are going crazy.
Depends, of course, on the actual CO2 levels caused by masks, but since masks are definitely not great for when you're doing sports or something, I'd imagine that it's probably noticable.
Not a doctor or anything but I would guess it depends heavily on how much the CO2 is getting elevated. Your body can adjust its CO2 sensitivity over time. I do a lot of breathing work for my running and some of it involves deliberately raising CO2 levels (paradoxically this can improve performance, long-ass story), and the first few times you do it you feel the need to gasp for air, but your body adapts pretty quick and soon it feels fine. I would guess elevated levels from mask wear are similar, depending on how elevated those levels might get. If it's minor I'd guess it doesn't have any real negative effects over time at all.

That said, there's mesh masks you can buy that look completely opaque when they're on your face but don't obstruct airflow at all. I really can't recommend them enough if you're in a nonfree state. Fuck masks.

Looked this up on Amazon for fun. Here's what I found.

I have never seen a tweet with EVERY SINGLE comment calling it out as lies on a scale like this before.
Eventually wrongthinking commenters will be deplatformed and replaced by sycophants and bots.

Comments from DailyMail article are greaet:

That honestly sounds terrifying.

Examples of such masks? I would love that. Thanks!

The one I was looking at is called "QueensFace Mesh Dot Breathble Outdoor Riding Running Face Mask" - I wasn't doing any hardcore research by the way, just poking around. If you do buy one, give us a review.

Disappointing to see Americlaps falling behind in global rankings in what ought to be their national pastime. SAD!

The ones I get are off Etsy, found em by searching athletic masks (altho most in that category are shit), try searching sports edition ultra breathable and pick the one that has a picture of the mask letting light through while held up. I would not survive a mask mandate without these things, love em to death.

How did this crazy idea of making the non-infected public muzzle up even begin?

Like I keep saying, replace any instance of "COVID-19" or "coronavirus" with "regular flu" to see the insanity.
Asymptomatic spread of the virus was extended to the idea that everyone ought be treated as a viral carrier. So everyone should wear a mask. At all times. Or else you're killing someone's grandma.

Of course, I'm not even sure it's been concluded whether asymptomatic spread is totally legitimate or not. And people still wear them below their nose which is absolutely pointless.

Here's one. I spotted a review that said it's even better if you cut out the inner lining. Another review said it was way too big compared to the one she ordered previously. Just be sure to check out some reviews before deciding to buy or not. And if you need some sparkly goodness in your life here's a multipack of rhinestone masks. I ordered that one because I have a lunatic relative who believes the masks will save us all, and that they've already begun to permanently eliminate the flu. My hope is that the shiny rhinestones will distract her from the fact that it's mesh. She's very critical of other people's masks. She also never washes her hands so she's clearly an expert.

Aside from that I've been lucky so far, I have yet to go into a store that's snapped at me for not wearing a mask. My heart goes out to any Kiwis who have severe allergies, sensitive skin, rosacea, or wear glasses, because adding a mask to that combo is really awful.
If you do buy one, give us a review.
I'll provide an update on my masks after I receive them. It was nice to read all of the reviews from people who are fed up with the mandatory mask nonsense. Of course you have a few crybabies mixed in declaring tHiS wOn'T aCtUaLlY pRoTeCt YoU!!!!! Yeah well none of them do.

"mobile vaccination units"

That honestly sounds terrifying.

They're coming to Washington state soon.

KING COUNTY, Wash. — King County Executive Dow Constantine announced a plan Friday to spend $7 million to set up high-volume COVID-19 community vaccination sites and mobile units as the next phase of vaccinations begin.
Constantine said he is working with King County Council to direct the funds.
The goal is to "hit the ground running" as Washington state enters Phase 1B of the vaccine rollout.

It's also nice to know that Washington state and likely most of us are fucked until at least April according to this:

Well I've probably killed a few dozen people carrying around the common cold and the flu before this holocoof thing but oh well every action I did including paying taxes and buying electronics had some people killed, off to the lowest circle of hell for me. I hope I meet Hitler there.

At first glance I was hoping that this read QUEEF. Disappointment.

By October 2020, 76% of the population were estimated to have been infected. This is based on a convenience sample of antibodies found in blood donors. I don’t like convenience samples and the true figure might well be lower, but not a lot lower

"mobile vaccination units"

Nice! Only one more evolutionary step to reach the Mobile Terror Unit.

9 Shocks Terror predicted this.

In other news, I recently had the misfortune of entering municipal government buildings in 2 separate counties. The big new gay (very big in fact) that I experienced in both places was a temperature-taking video machine... think of the camera displays you sometimes see in large retail stores that are showing you a close-up image of your own face (because you're a thief), but this one has a vaguely humanoid outline that, once occupied by a human and/or meat popsicle, gives a temperature reading and chinese fortune (temperature good! many happiness await).

This bizarre display of diminishing returns in the end times was duly noted, and I made sure to jam up some of the house negros on my way out to ask them how much it cost. One of them duly informed me that the machine cost TWENTY-SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS ($2700 USD currency), though to his credit we both had a laugh about government waste after I produced a snide comment from my culturaltouchstones.exe folder.

FEMA death camps population control camps incoming.

There's no way in hell I'm getting a vaccine anytime soon. I don't want to be told in 10 years, "whoops, that vaccine prevents you from having kids, oh well." Better just to get lots of sun, work out, take immune supplements, and let my healthy young immune system take care of it.

I'm worried that universities will say you need to have it before you can return on campus, but I seriously would consider deferring for a year instead of risking my health decades down the line. And tons of doctors agree with me, if you ask them in private. Oddly, it's mostly the Latino and Brazilian ones. They all have this thought that of course the government is into population control, can't trust something that came out so quickly right now.
