I have mixed feelings. I think a better organization for gun owners should have superseded the NRA a long time ago.

I have been a yuge Trump supporter, vocally especially online, since 2015. I do believe there were irregularities in the election, maybe not top down organized. I definitely don't think Biden had a landslide mandate, as Trump had more votes than 2016 and only lost by 8k votes here, 25k votes there.

But he lost me when he told his supporters to march to the Capitol. They did what he wanted them to do. They showed they loved him and would die for him. And now MAGA are terrorists, supporting Trump is sedition, and his policies are hate speech.

He has set populism back 100 years. He could have went to that rally and said "I won, we know it, but they stole the election. But that won't stop us from Making America Great. That's why right now I am declaring the formation of a new political party, the MAGA party. It will be made up of YOU. We will spend the next 4 years putting people in local office, state offices, governors, Congress. And in 4 years we will run a terrific candidate for President. Maybe it will be me, maybe it won't, but they will have my full support and be chosen by YOU. Now go over there, sign up, and we're not going to let them bring us down. Let them have their party on the 20th, we'll celebrate today."

Then break out the burgers and hot dogs and have people party instead of riot. He could have remained relevant, instead he trashed his legacy and Presidency in a day. Now anything he supported will be considered evil anti-American terrorism and hate including:

Not necessarily. Just focus on a few states and then neither party would get enough electoral votes to win meaning the election goes to the House. In fact, they shouldn't even run a national campaign until they have a few seats in Congress. It would without a doubt be helpful on the decisions the Republicans make in Congress because it means they would be at a perpetual minority and need the support of this third party to get anything done.

Although IMO anyone even remotely supportative of Trump should just join the Constitution Party and take that organization over (they already have ballot access in a bunch of states which is helpful) and turn it into a good version of the Republican Party.

The play is obvious and it's the reason they're impeaching a President who will have left office by the time the Senate gets round to holding the trial.

Any attempt to found a MAGA party will be deemed domestic terrorism and outlawed.

Any of the little people espousing right wing populism will be put on a watch list. No job, no internet, no travel.

If a high profile individual decides to put their hand up and run on a populist ticket in the GOP primaries they will be immediately unpersoned and have their lives destroyed.

Of course denying tens of millions of people participation in the democratic process will not end well but they don't care. Most of the top leaders in the Democratic Party are ancient boomers, they won't be around in ten years and they mean to enjoy their time lording it over the rest of us.

I hope I'm wrong but their rhetoric and actions are pointing that way. Maybe SCOTUS will step up and slap down this bullshit but I'm not holding my breath. The best we can hope for is that the economic shitstorm coming our way will mean a GOP win in the midterms, but again not likely with mass postal ballots/fraud.
