What's up with tumblr latching on to media with very dark themes and making them all 'cute-sy', to the point where they erase all and never mention the dark themes? Its not entirely media with dark themes, another popular example is Jojo, you got DIO, Josuke healing a crippled guy only to beat him back to a cripple, that one character who commonly calls other retards, and so on.

And let's not forget the purging of Old Yharnam, where people burned to the ground an entire part of the city that was afflicted and Djura was the only one that understood that the beasts were humans. Or the extermination of Castle Cainhurst and the band of Executioners (saw a few pics of Alfred, the unhinged murderous zealot as a softboi) that sought to kill Annalise for good. Or Adella the nun brutally murdering Arianna because you took Arianna's blood over hers. Or the harrowed beggar that killed the survivors. Or Gascoigne's daughter. Or Brador.

I could go on and on, but it's like this people cannot understand that some things cannot be sunshine and rainbows no matter how hard you try. Plus, i hate that whole softboi uwu so cute shit that they always push on certain characters.

That's why i blame SU. That series kinda ingrained the stupid belief that everyone, no matter how bad, can be saved through the power of friendship and love. We all know that we should give forgiveness to those who actively seek it and make an effort for it, but some people cannot be saved to begin with or maybe they don't want to.

That's why i blame SU. That series kinda ingrained the stupid belief that everyone, no matter how bad, can be saved through the power of friendship and love. The bizarelly skewed morality in SU is the thing that cracks me up about it the most: if you capture a bunch of rebels, literally break them apart, necro-rape their still sentient body parts into a gargantuan screaming hivemind of gem-flesh and leave it to gestate and eventually crack the Earth like an egg and kill everything on it, its okay because your sister died and you were really upset about it. But if you persistently flirt with someone at a rave and make them uncomfortable? You're a complete scumbag and deserve all the hatred that you get.


Damn, as I was writing this, I realised that what Yellow Diamond did was something straight up from WH40K, but apparently none of the writers realised the significance and consequences of that, probably considering a fat child crying more interesting and worth of exploration. And not only the actions of galactic dictators weren't thought about, the creepiness of some of the fusions also probably flew over their heads too.
